.... the deal is done!

Picked it up last night. 2004 Wakesetter LSV, hammerhead with 320 hrs, loaded up besides perfect pass .... in awesome shape besides some minor scratches on the decals.... Paid $24k + I owe the old owner dinner because she topped it off with gas.

Got it on the lift last night, and took a short cruise (it was chilly).

..... hopefully before too long I'll have the hard tanks out and swapped for 750s, and the stock sony tower speakers swapped for something (not sure yet what to replace with).

Thanks everyone for the input on the "should I buy" thread!

Haha, lets hope so!

Last night on the short little cruise she was so giddy about it. After a few minutes she said, "Ugg, these tower speakers sound terrible" .... I'm taking that as a green light to upgrade.

We need a break before you start asking about 1000$ tower speakers

But get REV10's and be done once

Nice pick-up. I'd say you owe her more than dinner on that steal - should be mowing her yard all summer for her..

Impressive that you can get the lift that close to shore and still get the boat on, must have a pretty good drop-off.

We have a sea-wall that butts up to the grass... so you step off the grass and its about 30" deep... then it drops about 8-10" for ever 10ft. out you go.

So the end of the dock is maybe like ~4 ft. deep, and that drop stays pretty steady until about 50 ft out it drops to 20 ft. Its a man made lake so 100% sand bottom which is nice.

Trust me I know

My wife and I are like ya'll "TO A POINT" lol

it never ends

last year for me it was

1. 2 PPI 900.4 amp for REV's and in boats

2. perko and second battery

3. then 3rd amp for sub

This year

1. new alternator

2. just redid the surge brakes

3. WS-420bt still got to install

left of do this year is

1. swap 800's in the back for 1100"s

2. LED's but only 30$ and I already have them

3. on board charger

As you see it doesn't end but I love working on my boat

Haha,

My plan to have done before next summer would be:
* New tower speakers
* Second battery + Perko
* Canopy for lift ( my brother sells them so I should be able to get one for cost + shipping)
* Perfect Pass (probably stargazer)
* Ballast upgrade (750s rear and add-in a bow bag)
* Replace stock courtesy lights with RGB LEDs and controller
* Teach my wife to drive so I don't have to worry if I'm not home.

You might want to add a heater to your list as well (if it doesn't already have it). I think your wife will love you for it.....and it'll extend the season.

looks great! how do you like that 6.5" in the top of the dash? seems like it would project well bouncing off the glass

Nacho - That speaker placement was a bad idea. It might be great for the rest of the passengers but the observer sat rider in my boat (05 LSV) always complains about the volume there. With basically all that glass wrapped around your head it gets very loud as compared to the rest of the boat. The driver's side is not as bad as your head isn't as close to the windshield.

I would say this is pretty correct... my biggest concern is that when it comes time to swap this out, its going to be a pain in the ass to get the speaker out / a replacement in.

The sound is okay just for putsing around but turning things up it gets a bit much.

My older sunsetter had speakers in a similar location, if I recall correctly, I ended up using the a "shallow" depth speaker so I could get it in there (instead of removing the windshield). versus putting a screw through the mounting flange into the fiberglass, I used small machine screws with a nut on the back.

Thanks everyone.

Working on re-doing the ballast .... Swapping the rear tanks for 1100# sacs.

Also I had to pull the wedge off, one of the bolts holding the wedge to the extension arms was missing.... I ordered some machine screws that should replace it, and after that should be good to go!

We wanted a bigger boat and this is certainly it! We had 13 in it the other night and it didn't even feel cramped. Now if it would just warm up.
