I don't know these people or anything about it, but I know some of you are into a project and just found this on Craigslist. Not sure it is worth this or not, but I would imagine you could make a nice project out of it and maybe even get it for less. I am about 30-45 minutes from it. If someone was real serious about it, I could try and check it out for you.

Funny. I saw that one with a little more parts on it in a field. They are getting the last little bit out of it now.

That thing looks like it seriously needs a lot of work. A hell of a lot more then you would ever get out of it tryign to sell. If it has no engine or tranny you don't have cores to turn in when buying rebuilt one's. The windshield is broken, new carpet and vinyl, trailer, etc... Are the gauges salvagable? That might be a wood floor and stringer boat. If so and it has been sitting outside and gotten much water in it I would be worried about that stuf needing to be replaced. If that stuff is solid and someone found another 80/early 90's ski boat that had a good engine and tranny but was beat up it might be worth the swap? It would be a cool resurection project for the right person.

Although you can find decent shape direct drives for 3000-5000 that don't need a trailer, engine or tranny.

It's advertised as a 96. And it looks like a 96ish Response, which would be all glass, no wood. Nice little boat, not worth fixing, but nice. Drop a late model inboard in it and it'd be a blast to drive. Those hulls handled great.

It's a Euro F3 and not a response. Still a great boat.

if it had any drivetrain at all it wouldn't be a bad deal. Parts cost alone will likely be 6-7k though, just to get it driveable, let alone the cosmetics.

Its not a Response or a Euro. It doesnt seem to have a ski pylon. I have never seen a Malibu with a back end like that. What is under those removable panels?

I actually don't think it is a malibu at all. Maybe some sort of copy of one? What does it say on the side combing pads? Ski ????? After looking at pictures of 1996 Malibu's it doesn't jive. In is weird because the Hull ID number says it is a malibu that was built in 96 but I don't see they have any boats that look like that. They made th echelon, echelon lx, response, response lx, flightcraft, sunsetter lx, sunsetter vlx, tantrum. None of those boats match that hull bottom and deck of the boat pictured. Looking at pictures all pretty much every malibu model made, even the skier I don't see how that matches. Besides the weird step up up by the dash in the deck and the compartments in the rear deck, the bottom of the hull from the rear looks nothing like the skier, echelon, response, euro, etc... It looks the closest to the euro or skier but those boats appear to have strakes that run the length of the hull or at least to the transom. I think this is somehow a one off boat that someone threw a malibu HID number on. Not sure why anybody would do that but nothing else makes sense unless is was some sort of prototype boat.
