So what project s do you guys have planned this winter ?

I just finished one of my 3 winter projects today came out pretty cool goes with the black and red theme of the boat. Looks good in the light don't know if it's to bling or not. Over all the project took about 2 hours to pull everything apart and making sure everything was labeled. Anodized did a great job it only took a week. The only things think that didn't come out was the shifter knob it would hold the red anodize. Need to polish it and take it back they said it might take the color if polished.

Next Project: I am going to do is create a aluminum storage tray over the engine. Think I can store the anchor and ropes and s few other things since I am doing custom bags and have lost some storage room.

Hey that Looks great. Much more custom then stock and I bet in direct sun light it will be better on your eyes as far as glare. Here is a Tip.

I would use a UV blocker wax or sealant to help the Red anodizing stay Red with out it the pieces most exposed to the sun will turn Pink over time and the pieces that are shaded like by your arm rest will stay like new. But heck if it's only a few Hrs to take off and re do then once every 3-4 years is nothing. I remember they were offering a Clear UV anodizing that went over the top of your color. it changes the look to more of a flat finish but the color stays.

Other thoughts. Hydro Dipping for other patterns and styles would be cool. I have seen people on Craig's List offering hydro dipping locally.

Thanks for the feedback. Really not to worried about it fading the boat sits in my garage when we aren't using it. If the boat sat out in the sun a lot yes the the color can fade after a while.

I'm always a fan of that! Great work!! I'm still trying to find pieces to powder coat lol.

My shifter knob seems to fade. I think because of lotion on my hand but I don't know.

What's the difference between anodizing and powder coating?

BTW I have Polished Aluminum and Clear Anodized it, comes out good, but little to no UV protection but on polished aluminum I guess you don't need a UV blocker. I have also Anodized parts and then had them Clear powder coated, again changes the Finish slightly but it held up very well on a Off road ATV environment.

I had mine Cerakoted. It's more durable and holds color. Mine is a pretty muted grey but it comes in all flavors. A local gun shop did my work. Your choice of color looks awesome. Night and day difference.

To OP Dave: Do you have a before picture? I have a guess of what it looked like, but a direct comparison somewhere would be cool for reference.
