I have a 2005 SANTE and a Ryan trailer. I am wondering if that is something that I can set-up to use with a boat buddy? It sure would make things quick and convenient if it could be used that way. Does anyone know if that is something I can do or does anyone currently have that set up? thanks in advance.

I have one on a 04 SV211, and Boatmate trailer. Once I installed the longer U bolt to the boat, it works great! I love, easing it in, hearing the click, and then signaling the driver to move. Out of the water in a few sec's.

They work well when you have the right slope at the dock ramp. That is the key. I had one for my last boat, an x7. It would work easily about 60% of the time the other 40 was a pain in the ... Also my brother in law had one on his supra and it got caught some how and as he was trying to release it the boat cut loose and almost ripped off his thumb (and no he is not a boat rookie). I now have a 05 sv211 with a DHS trailer and I no longer use one.

I had one on my x-7 then on my Super air..
I think most people that have problems with them don't know how to use it..
The only time the pin should be engaged is when you're pulling the boat out of the water..
When you're wiping down your boat at the ramp pull the pin and attach the winch strap.
Never trailer with the pin engaged.

A real steep ramp does make it harder to load the boat.. the key is to not put the trailer in too deep.
For a super air you'll have to change the bow eye to a longer one. The Nautique oem is too short..
Once you get the hang of it loading the boat is super fast.. Ease it in, click, drive away.
I'll put it on my next trailer for sure.

Bryan, isn't your boat for sale???
