Hey guys,
After the whole 22fx mishap, I found an open bow 21 foot Malibu sunsetter in my price range. Have any of you guys had any experience with these boats? If so how's the wake for wakeboarding. Any info would be great! Thank you!

My uncle has an 91' ... I remember riding behind it quite a bit when I was young and the wake wasn't too shabby with some weight in it. I learned my first few inverts behind his boat. If its in good shape and the price is right you can certainly do a lot worse.... I would go for it

My friend has a 89 malibu sunsetter open bow. The wake is on the rampier side unlike the wall/lippy nautiques of that era. Definitely a nice boat! Here is a video of us riding behind it with a little less than 2k worth of weight in it. It could take more if the prop pitch was lower, i think he has something like a 13x12 4 blade.

We've also surfed it, kinda of a small surf wake but it wasnt slammed either.

The Sunsetter is a much better choice. If it's me hanically sound and in a condition you are ok with pull the trigger.
