That is a hell of an idea, Riley! They could get a lot of revenue out of opening it up. Man, I remember when I first moved to CA and the water was up to the T at Granite Bay. So full, so fun...Those were the days.

FYI everyone. just got a letter in the mail from the state of california stating the delta would be closed to boaters this summer so dont bother trying to go.

They are closing the delta for the summer? Does it only affect trailerable boats, or everything on the entire waterway? My brother and I were just talking about buying a houseboat and living on the Delta...let me know the details.

Yeah it's crazy. My little brother does invasive species mapping out in the Delta and the state said they are going to start shutting down sections to stem the flow. I guess if they shut down enough there are also some budget savings, so it will be two fold with fewer patrol boats out.

I thought they were waiting to finalize some results, but I guess Kyle dropped the news early...

I wouldnt think the whole delta would be closed maybe certain sections.

Its just gonna suck cause everyone who goes out on lakes is gonna start going to the delta.

This summer is gonna be a very bad summer unless we get some miracle super rain storm.

one big storm will not do it. we need a series of cold storms to fill the mountians with snow so the water will continuously run into our resiviors till mid/late summer. California's department of water regulators (DWG i think?) tends to dump most of the water from one big storm.

yup i do have prior engagements unfortunately, well hopefully fortunately in the end but, you guys should have some great conditions. its been butter all week. warm weather, no wind, water in the low 50s. i rode just a wetsuit earlier this week and was perfect. but then again im not a dry suit kinda guy. have fun guys

I went out for lunch today, and when I was driving back to the office, it started raining hard enough that I had to put the windshield wipers on high. I can't remember another time when I was actually happy about that like I was today. Everyone keep doing your rain dances.
