..Anyone else out there have had issues with your tower moven. Malibu said that the bushing might be shot? But I was adivised that they don't make that tower anymore.

Any help would be great - we had a little kid get her hand pinched pretty bad over the weekend.

Cheers

Yea, Metcraft has gone down the tube. Those bushings & pins need to be replace pretty regularly if you use the boat much (like every year or two).

how hard of a job is it to replace the bushings?

Is something I can do or does the dealer have to take care of it?

That movement in the tower can lead to stress cracks in the gel. I would fix it more sooner than later. Check with your dealer for the bushings. If they don't have them, they may know where to get them.

The pins are easy. But the bushing need to be pressed out, then back in. It's something you can do, just carefully, like any bushing.

The Illusion tower is still being cast by XTP for Malibu, you can place an order with the dealer, they will order from Malibu and Malibu will release the casting mold to XTP to produce. I talked to Bu. the dealer and XTP this week for a customer with an 05 that needs to be replaced.

The bushings are easy to remove. Use a socket a little smaller that the hole and tap them out. 5 min job at the most.

Make sure to replace both sets of bushings, the pivot point bushings (one closest to bow) are the 2st to go.
