Because of the economy I had to give up my boat last year. I am now ready to buy and I have found a 2003 Mastercraft x2(now really a x1) and it is loaded with everything. It has 500 hours on it. They will not come down anyless than $32,500. It does have everything but I am thinking this is a little high. Your help would be appreciated.

$5k or more overpriced, imo

Great boat. Priced too high.

what you can afford is all that matters! if you like the boat then buy it, if not move on.

Worst advice ever. If buyers remorse is what you want when you realize you got screwed then pay 33k for an 8 year old boat.

The racks on the '03 are reason enough to stay away from them.

Where are you located?.......if your willing to drive you can find some awesome deals in states where the market does not hold up as well. Cali,Florida,Alabama. This is just from my experience and what I have seen when looking for a boat. There are some sweet deals to be had...don't sell yourself short.

He guys,

The boat RJ is referring to I believe is my boat. If you would like to check it out, It is posted on ebay here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-...rQ5fMotorboats

The X2 has 211 hours on it, not 500 and it is in perfect condition. As far as the question, is it over priced? For the condition, I say no, but everyone is entited to their opinion. Go price new ones... If it does not sell, I will just keep it...

I've got it listed for $35,000 and it is getting a lot of interested people.

Thanks,

Ricky, that looks like a nice boat. We've got our 2004 X2 up for sale too at 35k. 860 hours and a brand new 2011 interior from the MC factory. Quite a few nibbles so far and I'm sure the serious buyers will start to come calling once the snow thaws. Good luck!

hey shawn, how did you end up aquiring the 2011 interior? is it just skins or are they completes? feel free to pm.

For $15k more you could get our '08 X-star with $10k in stereo and only 300 hours.

Honestly, I think it's a bit over priced in this economy, but MC has made their new boats so expensive that they've driven the prices on their used boats up, too. FWIW, I sold my '05 X2 (completely loaded with options, MCX, cruise, heater, clamping board racks, both swim steps, nice stereo, etc) for $35k in '07. It was perfect with only 250 hours. Pretty sure I paid right around $40k for it brand new.

Shawn, I'd also like to know the story on the 2011 interior. A pm will do for me as well.

Hey Ricky
It is not your boat I'm talking about. Yours has half the hours and in much better condition than the one I am looking at. I am in California. Too bad you are not closer. Great looking boat!

Ricky....for being in TX your boat is priced right. Go check out TXMC and look at that X2 there selling for 32k with all the interior damage etc.

It's no secret that the 2004 vinyl did not hold up very well over time so while buying the new X25 we also worked out a deal on a new custom interior for the old boat. The new interior came from the factory as completes (including the new driver's seat) and was installed by the dealer prior to the boat going into storage for the winter.

As soon as it's out I'll post some better pictures but here's one from the installation...

I am looking into this. How much did it cost to have the skins put on?
