What Tower for my mastercraft 205V

I just bought a 2001 Mastercraft 205V and want to put a tower on it. I've done some research and found a lot of options. I really like to Swoop towers, like the Pro-Fight but they are a bit expensive and I have to take the boat down there for a custom fit. I would really like to put a mastercarft tower on it but they don't make them for my hull anymore. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

They do make them for your hull because they still make that hull. Look at the X1 it is the same boat as yours but it will also be expensive.

I've got an X1 (old 205V) with the last tower and I must admit that it is not the stiffest tower I've seen. Still great looking tower anyway.

If you can't find a Mastercraft tower, look into Samson towers. A couple boats ago I put put one on one of our first inboards. IMO they are one of the best made towers available. I wish more MFG's would put Samson on their boats. www.samsonsports.com

New dimension tower is the only one that will look correct for the boat. The others might actually devalue the boat

My fist choice would be to find a 2005 or 2006 X2/X1/205V tower. The only way to get one though is used I am guessing. My second choice would be a Titan II or who ever makes it now. They look nice, are super solid, custom sized, easy to add racks and speakers to and are fairly priced. My third choice would be a new dimensions OEM style tower.

Yup, 2005/6 x1 tower. I've got one and they work great, better than the 07 up x1 towers that use billet rear arms and a single top arms. Not sure where you can find one but if you can get XTP to make you one that's the ticket

Another vote for the 2005/2006 tower. Aside from being sturdy and functional they look great. I have always thought that the tower fits the boat perfectly. If you look at the boat from the side you will notice that the tower and windshield have the same profile. It seems that alot of boats have towers that don't fit them correctly. You can also go under a 7 foot garage door.

ND is web order, installation is not very hard if you don't mind drilling holes in your boat :-)

Not so fast... I asked my local dealer how much to put a current ('07+) tower on an old 205V and was told $8K was dealer cost. I threw up in a my mouth a little bit.

http://www.samsonsports.com/wakeboar...itchblade.html still think you should look at the Samson towers they are simply the best towers made and come with two rotating racks and a lighted tow point the welds are the best I have seen on a tower and I make my living welding so that should tell you something.Also Scot the owner is a great guy and stands behind all his goods and the price is only half of an 07+ mastercraft tower

^^^ +1 on the Samson towers. My buddy ordered his Calabria Pro V from the factory sans tower just so he could take it up to Samson (they are local to us) and have a Razor custom fit. That's how much he liked that tower.

I have been in his boat many times and it's a VERY good tower and makes his Pro V look so much better than stock. It's also super easy to raise and lower... all by yourself.

And... Samson makes tons of different racks so you can really add on lots... as you can see, my buddy has lots of rack storage! You can't do this on MC's tower.

You can't tell me that's not the hottest Calabria you've ever seen. It's all in the tower!!

I agree with the Samson recommendation. I actually got mine through Ian Brown and it was great. They actually custom make the footings to contour to the individual gunnel shapes to minimize uneven stress points on the hull, thereby minimizing cracks etc. They are a great company to deal with as well. I actually had a piece of my bimini break (totally my fault) and they shipped the piece to me that day at no cost.
