I switched to still photography many years ago. But a friend of mine asked for recommendations for a video camera for his teenage son who was interested in making movies. I haven't got a clue as to what to recommend. Any advice on cameras and any reputable places to buy a used one?

I have a Canon M300 I was thinking about selling on craigslist or ebay because I never use it. Email me if you want more info jacquayj@gmail.com

I got a panasonic FZ35 point and shoot camera last year and it takes really good video, in addition to taking good stills. I also have a canon vixia HD video cam that I never use anymore because the panasonic is so much more versatile. The canon cost twice as much too!

They are now up to the FZ47, which shoots in 1080p as opposed to my FZ35's 720p. http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-...2954230&sr=8-2

Any of the new DSLR's that shoot both photo and video. Canon 7d is a good camera that isn't too expensive

Thanks guys. Any particular specs to look for? Is eBay and Craigslist the consensus to buy one?
