Looking to upgrade to an intermediate board. Currently ride an O'brien Clutch and have narrowed it down to these two. Preference is for the Code 21 but worried it's too much board for me as I've read reviews saying it can be slippery. Ideally looking for increased pop with some stability. Is the Code 21 that much more of an advanced board? Would the District be enough long term? Thanks!

Dude i ride the 2016 Silver code 21. I think it;s an absolute rocket. (personally)
But i guess my only comparrison is a double up park board which has a near identical rocker but a fatter tip and tail.

But the tip and tail on the code 21 come in pretty hard so you get some good speed off the edge. Pop is definitely there. The soft landings not soooo much but i ride a 135 which is probably a touch small for me.

I'm an intermediate rider as well and ride the Ronix One. It has a no channels in the middle and I ride it with the 0.8" fins which makes it extremely slippery. I've ridden a mana, code 22 and bandwagon in the past and this board has helped my riding the most of any of them. This board has really taught me to edge properly instead of relying on fins to do the work for you. My pop has gotten so much better in about 20 sets of riding. You just need to make sure you hold some edge on landings.

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. Interesting all votes for the Code 21 so far. My lake gets really choppy due to traffic so I've been thinking the District might be a little more stable for rough conditions.. do we think I'd still get decent pop?

I own a Code 22 and have ridden the district. I liked the pop of the code 22 much better. The slipperyness is only there when flat basing. It holds an edge fine. The rounded mid edge is actually really fun for butters on the wake. I love the Code 22 and imagine the 21 is similar.

Yeah man the code 21 helps develop great board control and board tricks.
Code 22 and Code 21 are EXACT same shape, just the core is different. The 22 has a more advanced i think "modello"? core..

Don't be scared of too much board. More board more pop.. Kind of ....

Note: Never had a problem holding an edge and i'm a pretty aggressive rider. May have slipped on my toe side edge once ever.

Thanks all for the responses. Giving me the confidence to go for the Code 21 and grow into it! Now just waiting for the 2018 driven price drops..
