Haven't done it yet. But I've seen pics of it being done. I would imagine you would want a floodlight style beam

Put some waterproof LED'S under the swim platform. It will light up your wave better. You may want to put a couple of lights on the tower as well.

You folks don't have a 1/2 hour before sun down to 1/2 hour after sun up restriction? I thought that was almost universal across the country, it has to be more than just California. Here, in the land of legislation, no towed watersports at night.

Jeff we also have the 1/2-1/2 law so it would certainly be a ticket for me as I want to surf when it's real dark as in just moonlight.

its fun. I did it behind a 08 x star. the boat had purple lights under it so the wave was purple and the boat had some sick tower lights. It was pretty fun.

We do it all the time with just some Abyss S600b transom lights that light the wave and wash up in blue. It's totally sick and requires you to ride by mostly just feel. I just installed some tower lights today so we'll see how that changes things but it's damn fun. Oh, we're lucky enough to not have cops on the water after 5pm.

We do it quite often, my Tige came with the underwater transom light which lights up the wave pretty good. My buddy has some tower lights and those work pretty well too.

I'm not telling anyone not to do it because I hate when people do that to me but some of those videos in that youtube link are perfect candidates for the "Darwin award".

wakesurfing+small flashlights+alcohol = next year's boat PSA.

I definitely need to see the lit up wave! This thread is worthless without pics. I have surfed at night with tower lights. But the lit up wave has me very intrigued.

Kyle, they use waterproof LED's. Do a search on the board for underwater LED's and im sure you'll find some good info.

We did it last weekend! All we had was a good maglight and the moonlight. If you put a couple reflectors on the edge of the board its real easy to keep track of your rider once they fall. With no other boats on the water it was awesome! We had friends on shore that said they could'nt hear or see anything.

I find no pleasure with this, you dont see almost anything and there is great chance that driver will not see you when you fall. Once I saw bunch of surfer chasing small waves in ocean with headlights in total dark!!! No moon no ambient light. Just crazy people.

We put a flashing light on both the surfer and the board which are visible for 7 nautical miles.

I used to do it all the time. Still do occasionally. this is what I use to light up the wave...one for each side( projector style beams, amber color)
