I have to build a skim board for a guy who is 300lb+ and I'm trying to decide what dimensions to make it. Anyone out there a bigger dude who likes to ride skim? If so, what size board are you riding and what do/don't you like about it?

It totally depends on the core being used. Stiffer/denser foam like pvc/divinycell will allow you to ride a thinner and smaller board. Softer foam like EPS will require a thicker and bigger board to make up for the drag when it flexes

Thanks for the reply. I'm familiar with the differences in board shape/construction techniques, and how they affect the way a board rides. What I'm looking for is any experience big guys have had with skim boards and what size board they ride.

I’m 6’5” 290 and Have been very pleased with my Phase 5 Trident. It had good width and seems to be very buoyant.
