I'm looking at upgrading to a new boat and a few years back at a boat show I'd seen an x star with an all red interior. I loved it and thought looked pretty sick. I'm considering a red interior on my next boat and had a few questions for anyone out there who has a colored interior instead of the basic white, grey. My fear is that the color would fade quickly and also get hot. So how's all your colored interiors holding up? Do you wish you would of went white instead? Thanx for the help

Well, it does not get any more "colored" than my interior. Hopefully I can help out with some of your questions. First, the new material that MC (& I assume other manufacturers are using) is textured and does not hold heat like the vinyl on older boats. I went aggressive and have a black interior in a boat...and its amazing in person, pictures don't do it justice, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. The black in direct sunlight will be cooler to the touch than the "dove gray" color that was the accent on my 2007 X Star. I would not have a worry at all about this unless you live where its 100F + every time you are out. I'm from Michigan and this actually extends the season because it does hold a little of that early spring and late fall sunshine in. As far as holding up, it is only a year old, but if you take care of anything it will last. I have no worries about fading. Get the interior the way you want...be bold, it is a boat, it is supposed to be fun!!! Let me know if you have any other questions.

How does the black do with lotion and other forum materials that gets spilled on it? Do you think it would be more visible over time like black paint on a car?

I have not noticed anything so far...i think the material they are using today is engineered to be more durable and easier to clean. Technology definitely marches on. I can tell you everywhere i have taken the boat people's jaws drop when they check it out...thanks Mastercraft for letting people do crazy interiors!
