I alternator took a dump on me last night and we have a 4 day weekend trip planed for next week. Here is what I have;

It is only a 51 amp so while I'm upgrading I may as well go bigger. Who do I need to call? Anyone keep these in stock?

Contact DB Electrical: http://www.db-starter-alternator.com/. They did one for me on the old Tigé and had it to me in days. Tell them your situation and they'll have it asap to you, they are great people to work with. They're in Tennessee so you should have it quick.

I am not trying to be controversial, but I have been nothing but disappointed with my alternator from DB electrical. Their service is great but the product in my experience has been less than good.

I ordered a 100amp alternator from them and the first one broke. They were great about sending me a new one out immediately and I received it in just days, BUT the new one I have delivers only 12v where as most alternators will deliver 14v so my whole system gets bogged down when I have the blower on, and the stereo on, and a ballast pump on so like I said the product for me was not what I had wished it would be.

I've seen the battery shack mentioned on here a few times. They have a 91 amp in stock for $328, is this the best route to go?

I've got one for sale - bought for my boat but not using it. Brand new - never installed.

$50.00 plus shipping.

Big D, if I knew for sure yours would work I would snatch it up, but mine is a three wire. I have no idea what the other two wires go to, but I assume I need them.

My MasterCraft dealer can get me the original for way less the the other HO options so I'm going that route for now. If this one lasts another 10 years I'll be happy.

I switched mine from a 3 wire to a 1 wire setup. I just ran a new 4 guage wire to the starter solenoid.

Just take it to a starter/alternator shop and have it rebuilt - cheap and fast.

second what trace said.

Those alt's for $150 that suposedly make 130-160 amps, use junk parts...you may get one that lasts a coupel fo years, btu they are junk. there is a reason why 160 amp alt's cost upwards of $300-500.
