Yeah!!!! We did it!!!! WWA has agreed to add a Women's Vets division for all us mature ladies!! The only stipulation is that there has to be at least 4 riders in Master's Women and 4 in Vets. Come on all you rippers....come out and ride!!! Represent!!! It will be offered at Wake Games, Nationals, and Worlds.

What? No super vets? JK
The vets division is cool. I hope the"younger" women will start to compete. The amateur women's division needs competitors, as will the women's masters.

Hmmm....maybe by the time I'm eligible for the Vets division I'll actually have enough tricks to ride in it! Congrats, ladies! Spreadin the love...one division at a time!

Nice work! The Vet's Division is going to be pretty darn competitive. So I think we need to recruit some more 30-39 year olds...
Old     (oldgirl)      Join Date: Jun 2008       01-26-2010, 3:48 PM Reply
Geri-I guess I have to go now that we have our own division!

Let me know if you are up to riding in the peanut-butter at the lagoon.

Kathleen-Don't wait to compete. Join us this year. You are probably better than you think.

yea, chocolate milk with floaters at Canyon.

Liz - I thought you were still part of the youngster group below 40!!

Geri - Thanks for reminding Priscilla that we talked about the new division last year. Will they just combine the two groups if there aren't 4 people in each for the applicable competition? I'd rather them do that than take away the Vet Division next year based on participation this year.

Oh - I am in the "young" group for a bit more time. Do they go by birthdate or Jan 1? We need more 30-somethings!
Old     (rnopr8)      Join Date: Apr 2005       01-26-2010, 10:49 PM Reply
Liz....Jan 1.
Kat....it is my understanding that we will covert back to masters. But I will confirm that.
Old     (rnopr8)      Join Date: Apr 2005       01-26-2010, 11:01 PM Reply
Liz....I believe Irene wants to compete this year and Kat has a couple friends who want to also....that would be 5 and any others...
Old     (rnopr8)      Join Date: Apr 2005       01-26-2010, 11:02 PM Reply
Allison...Kathleen would have to join the Youngsters...lol
Old     (lizrd)      Join Date: Jul 2002       01-27-2010, 6:01 AM Reply
Perfect - it would be great to get both divisions off the ground. Then we would have
Women (19-29)
Masters (30-39)
Veterans (40+)

We can show all those kids what we can do! :-)
Old     (rnopr8)      Join Date: Apr 2005       01-27-2010, 7:38 AM Reply
Liz...Absolutely! BTW...I did confirm that we will default back to Masters Women if not enough Vets
Old     (wakekat15)      Join Date: Jul 2005       01-27-2010, 1:29 PM Reply
I don't think enough Vets will be the problem....likely not enough in Master's!
Old     (lizrd)      Join Date: Jul 2002       01-27-2010, 4:27 PM Reply
That's what I was thinking - here's the ones I know: Jen, me, CC. Oh, there's Annie too but I don't know the status of her knee this season. Time will tell I guess.

So if we don't get enough Masters do WE default to Veterans?!? :-) Or do we bump down to Amateur Women?
Old    kaligirl            01-27-2010, 5:09 PM Reply
Allison...thanks for the vote of confidence...maybe 2011...I'll still be one of the "youngsters"...barely. LOL
Old     (rnopr8)      Join Date: Apr 2005       01-27-2010, 6:10 PM Reply
Liz...Masters will run..Vets will be dropped. Don't forget about Irene...and I think Kat has a couple friends too. Kat...what about Danielle?

Not sure if I will be competing this year because I'm getting married this summer, not because of my knee. The doc thinks I should be good, but in a couple of months if it hasn't gotten better he's going in. The wedding is in July and I don't think I will have the time or the money to worry about my passes. Looks like next year I will be able to be back out there riding with a new name.

I'm hoping the knee is good enough to compete this year. If I don't have enough time to really ride prior, I'll go Reno to cheer everybody on. However, if we need me to ride just to keep things going, I'll take donations to pay the entry fee and at least strap the board on and goof off

It'll be 2012 before I can compete in the Vet's division. I feel like such a young buck (or rather doe) right now.

I"m 29 right now, but about to be 30 in August, maybe I'll be better by then! LOL

Pretty sure it goes with your age as of Jan 1, so ride in Women's! It's more about the fun we have than the competition itself.
Old     (lizrd)      Join Date: Jul 2002       01-28-2010, 6:17 PM Reply
CC - I would expect you to be there with a bum knee or not!

Hi Annie - good to see you posting! The wedding sounds like fun and I loved your proposal pics. Even if you don't compete perhaps you can scoot down to the Fox River sometime this season! If you listen carefully you might just hear my X-2 calling your name....

Kim - should be you, Liz, Jen, Irene, CC, Annie (maybe), and two or three new faces.

PS If I had made the rules, the judges would throw me a beer on my 2nd fall!

The Air Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships, presented by Rockstar will make its first appearance in the greater Reno area of Sparks, Nev., on July 14-18.

Our division normally rides on Wed & Thur of Nationals.
