Is that right? Gross, wakeboarding and sweat do not go together. Rode cable the other week at KC Watersports and was sweating while riding, and the water was nowhere near what your gauge is reading there... maybe 85?

On a serious note though, when it gets that hot you need to start being mindful of that brain eating ameoba (I forget the actual name) and be really careful not to get water up your nose. Really important for little kids. I read it just got an 11 year old somewhere and before that the 17yo at the whitewater place in NC.

Really important for little kids as many don't know how to keep water out of their mouth/nose while swimming (course it doesn't hurt to swallow, except for bacteria maybe but the amoeba only attack the olfactory nerve in the sinus).

A young girl died from that here on the Kansas Lakes a few summers ago when it was really hot, 2012 or 13 I think, really sad.

If anyone has little kids either keep them out of it or put some nose plugs on them while swimming, probably not a good idea for skiing/tubing for the little ones.

Yep... We fill your pain up here in NC. Our lake has a power plant on it and the water ranges from 94 to 99 this time of year, depending on how close you are to the plant... It's terrible right now... But on the plus side we can go all the way till Nov-Dec. with just shorts and a heater shirt on.

This is the hottest this lake has been in this cove and it's 20 feet deep and a big lake... southern texas gets damn hot.. There is a lot of worry about the amoeba's and parasites in the water here..

Time to find a new lake. Is that one used by a power plant?

If his is wrong, then mine must be too. 18ft of water last weekend and it read 94°.

Pretty crazy our water gets hotter than some people's air during summer.

I started to take picture the other day. Air was 99 and water was 98. Feels like bathwater.

I've lived in Texas for 38yrs from Central Texas to South Texas...there is more to this high temp reading. There's no way a Texas lake is 99F in the any main body, cove, or channel. 92 degrees is the warmest I've ever seen. What lake is this 99F reading from?

I would bet Lake Bastrop would see a 99 degree reading in mid August easily. Power plant lake plus 100 out.

Pay Mayse was 98.. I bet this week after the rain and storms though it is back down to around 92.

We get those 90 plus water temps in Florida as well. Last night it cooled to the low 80's at night and as I walked over the bridge at 9:30pm I could feel the hot air rising as the heat was leaving the water.

...the reason I also like all white interiors. Any color accent can get way too hot in the sun.

Looking forward to late October's cool down.

Thank you Texans and Floridians for reminding me that I live in the best climate on earth in NorCal. Can't beat our Mediterranean climate here. Perfect? No. Close? Yes. All four distinct seasons without extreme winters. Full eight month boating season to boot.
