I'am installing a mid ballast in my centurion Elite Air and I wondering if I needed to vent it ? I have a brass check valve on the fill and a plastic check valve on the drain side. the bag will not be able to fill all the way due to the space provided. Should I just tee into the existing air vent for the rear ballast? I seem to have an extra through hull fitting on the starboard side and some kind of vent cap on the port side. the fuel tank filler is on the starboard side. any help, Thank You Joe

$.02 I prefer to vent the sacs. Over time, they will collect air, which takes up space that could be occupied by water. The vent will also prevent the sac from filling up like a balloon and having something give.

There was once a picture circulating where a vent hose got kinked and rather than the bag popping, the entire rear corner of the boat had a nasty fiberglass 'rupture' if you will. So, the answer is to vent your bag whenever possible...

Do you just install another thu hull fitting ? or do you need some other thu hull air fitting with a cap. I was planning on running another 3/4 inch line to a thru hull fitting, next to the drain Thank You Joe
