Firstly, why are you only asking for SAN setups? Secondly, what are you trying to achieve when you say you want to do it right the first time?

Here is mine... I have six Bose 151's. Two facing forward and two facing backward. I totally prefer this look, becuase to me it looks cleaner then just a bunch of round junk hanging down. All this is on a 2001 Super Air...

Speaker cannisters that I made ........4 Infinity 6 1/2's on a 2001 Super Air FCT. Since this pic, I've lowered my bimini some so it doesn't rub the speakers. (Message edited by jroyal on October 30, 2003)

Tim, Can you hear those 151's while riding? If so, do you think you would be able to hear them if you only used 2 speakers?

Yeah - You can hear them. And the boat originally had two from the dealer, and you could hear them fine. The main thing is to use cross overs so you do not pump alot of bass through them. But other then that I love them. And these speakers take some abuse from the weather and keep on going. I have been through a number of rain storms with them and have had no problems. You can see my speaker box that I built in this link. You'll need to cut and paste the URL. http://www.geocities.com/hiside1@pacbell.net/TSE1.html?1057122833455 Looks unique and you could also integrate lights into the construction if you wanted.

Any particular crossover point seem to work best? Or just a standard "high pass" of some sort?

Why Did I take down the Speakers for a Number of reasons, #1 I wanted somthing custom Nothing wrong with this but(anyone can buy some Boss cans and throw them up there A Fiberglass box was more cutom for me) see the thread "ENZO Tower Box" for photo's #2 My friend Has a Fiberglass box on his tower with 4 6X9's shooting down and 4 shooting back '8 total" and I liked the way it sounded when you were in the boat. "VERY LOUD" The Boss Can's shoot the sound way back there (great for riding) but most of the sound was going straight back and away Example( People on the shore were rocking out While It didn't seem that loud inside) I mean to tune my system you had to stand on the Sun Deck to hear the speakers the way they were ment to be heard. #3 I think The 6X9's sound cleaner at the Volume I am used to. I think seprates sound good from level 1-7 Very clean and clear. But I think 6X9's sound better for level's 8-10 and with lots of power and thats the way we roll "Level 10" So I was pushing the Seprates hard. So It seemd for me that I was as far as I could go with the tower set I had. I couldn't push any more power and Couldn't fit any more speakers, I sold everything for $2,000 to some guy in Texas with a Wakesetter I you see him say HO-WDEE!

Mabey I m A freak but, 1 set of 6 1/2 inc speakers on the tower is a "JOKE" I mean what are you going to do with that. It sounds good when the boat is turned off and you are listining to music but that's about it.(and it thats what you bought it for cool) It should be FALSE Advertising when they sell you 1 Pair of tower Speakers and think your going to hear them 70 feet back at 22 mph LOL HA HA. For you to hear anything you would have to turn up a single pair of 6-1/2 inc tower speakers so loud that they distort and sound like crap! That was the whole reason behind having lots of tower speakers they didnt have to work as hard to make the sound I wanted. It's like towing with a 4 banger you can do it but it works the hell out of the 4 cylinder. And then tow with a Big V-10 your doing the same thing But your just Idleing. BTW (Jeff) Your Boss Mirrror Mount and your Cipa Mirror is mounted Upside down.

Hey grant, I know the new enzo box will be cool, but I love how all those speakers look on a FCT. I'm kicking myself for not buying those from you.

Tom I would have loved to sell it to another guy with a SAN, And a FTC that way I know all the R&D I did went to good use the guy that bought my old set up, I dont think he was able to put all the speakers up there Because his Proflite was smaller than the FTC. If your thinking of doing somthing I think you can have a Loud system with 4 6X9's 2 shooting back and 2 shooting down. IMO the ones shooting down are more important that the ones shooting back. For some reason the ones that shoot down endup bouncing sound back up and out so its loud for the rider also.
