Note: The SC-1 interfaces will only work with infrared remotes that use the common 38-40kHz carrier frequency. Consult with equipment manufacture to determine the carrier frequency.

I like the idea, but how does it interface to the IR? My head unit (HU) is under the malibu arm rest so there's no line of sight to the HU. Will it still work?

Maybe the IR emitter can be installed to shine on the radio -- perhaps adding a mirror to the backside of the arm rest.

the ir emitter is pretty small...it is installed so that is in 'view" of the ir eye on the radio

I happen to have the sc1-b and it works great. Water has soaked it many of times and no problems at all. The only thing I wish they would do is offer the lighting in different colors.
