SYN 6 can put out 200 watts to each of your Rev 8's and the wetsounds website says 200 watts is what they need. Then you still have 600 Watts going to your Pro 485. The REV 10's are listed at 300 Watts RMS. I am sure you would notice a huge difference in sound quality.
I have a friend that has pro 60's and I have a pair of REV 8's. No contest whatsoever in terms of midbass production and quality of the volume.
Here is a plug for my REV 8's for sale. They are black with TC3 swivel clamps. Obviously they are barely used as this is a brand new product for Wetsounds.
They have the TC3 swivel clamps as well for any tubed tower. I am sure you could put these on an Alpha Z/Illusion/MC tower, but it would require a retrofit of the interior backing plate in the speaker. That can be done via wetsounds if they will send you the appropriate backing plate.
I was desperate to get an HLCD before I went to Lake Powell in mid June. I knew that I was going to want Rev 10's, but only the 8's were available. I know that I am going to take a financial loss over it, but it was worth it to me before a week long houseboat trip to have them.
They sound terrific and can be heard easily by themselves when wakeboarding or tubing with proper amplification.
Few dealers are selling these for less than MSRP as that Wetsounds is just ramping up their supply lines and these are in great demand. I don't think they have any in stock right now at all.
I would be happy to get $900 for them. I am negotiable to some degree. I will be leaving tomorrow in the early afternoon from St. George Utah down I-15 to Southern California if someone wants them in that region. Shipping otherwise is around $60, I believe.
