Anybody else see this? Sanger just posted this on their FB page... Looks like a new model is coming out, looks to be wider than the old V210....

Gotta love me a Sanger... Nice looking boat, cant wait to see what the specs are on it...

sits alot higher out of the water then the usual sanger. looks pretty nice though.

Looks terrible. Completely lost that sleek Sanger look with this one

Im undecided if I like its looks, definitely different direction than anything Sanger has ever made... IMO they started scoping other manufacturers, the bow of it reminds me of a Centurion, the lines on the side with the curve between the topsheet and hull reming me of a MasterCraft and the back corners almost look like a Malibu to me....

That tower is crazy thin...

Heres a pic of the interior.

yikes. Not a fan, not a fan at all. I have been saying that they needed to add some freeboard to their boats but not at the expense of completely changing the style. And that interior. What in the heck are they thinking? Seems like way overthinking it and a way too costly a way to pull the end goal (get extra rear facing seats) off. It has to be way easier, cheaper and more desirable to have some sort of flip up seat with a traditional wrap around. Plus, it looks like to be comfortable you would be sitting facing the transom/starboard side and not directly back. I still don't understand why sanger and centurion, I think, have the observer seat angled to the side rather then facing straight back. Plus, all that effort and they did nothing on the drivers side to get a rear facing seat.

As for the overall styling it looks like they brought on someone from wakecraft or something. There is a hint of Dan Dulong in there somewhere

I like it a lot! Everything about it is great except the double observer seat is a bit odd. I have to see that in person to see how it works and laysout. I completely disagree with you Brett that it looks anything like a WakeCraft. Looks big for a 21'er

Lol I can't believe they are still in business.... sweet double observer seats that might as well be on the floor they are so low.

Yes. Supposedly some more carbon fiber. Supposedly a heavier boat than the previous model. Mark Semper and his team had it out a few weeks ago, according to his technician who got a ride behind it.

I'm not a huge fan of it as it really abandons the last lower profile design left in the market. The roll off at the rear corners of the transom seems out of place.

The rack needs some time to grow on you but other than that it looks good. Needs digital dash but I know allot of people love the guages.

Double seat in the front not so cool.. but.. having room for 3 drinks... absolutely amazing.

Not saying it's impossible but, how would you add more/bigger speaker wires or say, LED light wires to a tower that thin? Is there some sort of chase? I'm gonna reserve judgement until I see in person. Does it have a right hand prop to match the starboard facing seats? JK
Old     (jbird)      Join Date: Jun 2011       09-04-2014, 1:21 AM Reply
I would think this is a new addition to the Sanger lineup...Not a new take on the V215/37...

And yes it does have influences of a Wakecraft...But I've been told David Telling is back working with Calabria!

In the last pic...why is the platform 2-3" below water level and the boat doesn't appear to be loaded heavily with ballast?

I actually like the boat. Graphics and the shape of the dash not o much, but not a deal breaker.

What does the surf system look like?

That is, by far, the worst looking design/build quality/fit and finish of any modern wakeboat. This thing makes Moomba, Axis, and centurion, look like rockstars.

3000 lbs factory ballast. Quick shape looks to be a new name for the surf tabs.

WakeWorld didn't like the XTZ's with the launch pad, and they sell well. No one liked the forward facing tube tower yet they sell well. They are still building the V237 and V215. The V210 was discontinued last year. I'm just a little afraid of where the price will be for a 21 foot boat.

Check out the video.

Got all that from a picture did ya?
You obviously know nothing about Sanger build quality and fit and finish.

I actually like it...and also like the double observer seat if it works well. I agree though the price may put it in contention with some far better choices...

I like it. Not sure about the 2 observers seats, need to see it in person. Never was a fan of the forward sweeping tower, but this one looks kinda cool as it is so thin. I would really miss the seat back behind the driver - I always thought that was a nice touch, but I don't see it in any pics so far (maybe it folds away?). Hey hey and we finally have speakers in the bow

looks like a price point boat with big ballast. and a bit wonky for sanger's traditional designs. Can't get over the transition from cabin to bow. Would look really sleek if they kept the rub rail line all the way up to the bow. weird and I'm sure creating the molds were more expensive....

Hate the color of interior with the stitching or layout design makes it look cheap and dated. Double observer seat I hate along with tower doesn't go with boat.

Normal color scheme and interior colors design, with better tower and standard observer seat might look a lot better with clean classy look. Like the flooring and walk thru and stock ballast.

However I own a v215 and would of been happy to see same lines with more freeboard with more stock ballast and surf system. Nice flooring and walk thru. I like the simplicity of my sanger and price. Doesn't look like I will be getting a new one.

There's something to be said for a little beef on the tower.. This tower is paper-thin and I bet moves around a lot.

As a former DLX and now a V215 owner....not a fan.

Anyone else think that this is a HORRIBLE location for a USB/Audio input location? Just what I want when operating the throttle...to be tangled up in cables!

Need to see it in person, but....yikes!

Good observation about the USB Shaun.
Old     (BaadLS1)      Join Date: Dec 2013       09-05-2014, 12:04 AM Reply
The USB port has been there for some time, and I have never understood why as most would think closest to the source makes the most sense. Glad all of my devices are bluetooth enabled and don't require it in my v215. There also does not appear to be a Livorsi digital menu like there is on the XTZ/LTZ models. I would have expected that as a standard option when talking 70k+ price tags. I also prefer the PP/Zero off round bezel vs. the attempt to "hide" it behind a trim piece.

With what appears to be an even smaller amount of bow space, no back support behind the driver's seat to support a rear facing passenger, a segmented rear facing seat that fails to allow passengers to lounge with their feet up and a rear sun pad that is less of a sun pad and more for a slope, this is not going to get your wife's "seal of approval".

The metallic dash trim pieces scream "MB", I don't understand why the trim tab has still not gone adjustable and while the tower is a nice change from the rest of the industry, it introduces limitations in wiring and mounting capabilities.

This appears to be a "bro boat" only and while it probably is decent at surfing, it is probably a better wake boarding boat. And with 3k after plug & play available, I bet they gave up on hard tanks finally.

The coolest part of that boat is Kicker's new black box style source unit with LCD display/control. 3rd pic down, to the left of the steering wheel. From what i hear, its got BT, AM/FM/Weather Band, Dual rear USB and dual rear AUX, low battery alert, 4V front, rear and sub RCA outs, zone control, XM Serius ready and supports remotes. Sure hope this becomes available in the aftermarket.

only 1 "inset" cupholder on the pass side and 3 up on top between the seats where they will cook in the hot sun?? I like my beer cold please...

that being said, have to see one in person. dash doesn't look too bad, but tower looks cheesy and cheap. The last 237 I surfed at polar bear'12 was noisy, felt cheap and tower was unstable.

I just bought a brand new v215 last weekend and it was the boat I have wanted for over 2 years (I'd take a new VLX if I had no budget). Sanger makes great boats and I'm sure the Matrix will be as well, but the design of the boat leaves a lot to be desired at this point.

I actually feel bad that they're so out of touch they'd release something like that. That interior is pretty bad. Why waste that space in an already small boat? I'm of the less is more train of thought though. Hopefully someone else will like it. I'd like to see Sanger stick around, but I don't think that's the boat that's going to help the cause. They need to start over on that interior. It's a mess.

Based on pics, tower looks hard to work with. As said before, adding speakers looks like it may not be an option and same with racks. If it is actually carbon fiber, I might not worry about sway as that stuff can be pretty tough, but does it fold? How do you get a bimini on there well? Dash looks meh, rub rail and gel lines leave something to be desired, and interior layout isn't my cup of tea. Again all just IMO as I've never been in one, let alone behind one. 3000lbs stock ballast? How is the storage going to work with that dual observer seat?
Old     (bstroop)      Join Date: Apr 2005       09-07-2014, 10:59 AM Reply
Aside from the tower and dash it's not a bad looking boat IMO.

I don't see how anyone can call this ugly. The exterior lines and interior styling look similar to what everyone else is doing. Probably just hating on it because it's a Sanger.

I hear what you are saying and WW is notorious for spurious negativity but I'm a Sanger owner and promoter of the brand in the past so "qualified" to pass judgment.....

I was really hoping for something more like the direction MB is heading, they are a smaller independent brand but seem to have the good taste and sense to produce a viable alternative to the "Big 3". This new development from Sanger has some good things going for it: Freeboard, ballast capacity but the overall lines of the boat have lost the "Slumping Sanger" a lot of the faithful find attractive and the interior looks pretty ugly and cheap IMO. Performance yet to be verified but the surf wake from the video looked pretty short and wakeboard wake looked a little but fluffy on the lip.

I can't think of a single wake boat in production that is uglier than this. It has average freeboard, and has a bow shaped like a snake head or a spade shovel. the only boat that can come close to how ugly that is, is any epic.

The tower is horrendous, will most likely flop around like a sail without wind in it.
the interior layout is terrible, the double observers seat is a complete waste of space
the "surf tabs" are massive
the transom is useless due to the platform being so low
gauge cluster looks like its out of an 04 kia spectra
the random bend in the front is an poor attempt at supras SA

throw any other manufacturers name on it, and I would hate on it. $.02

Yeah, that's kind of sad because WakeWorld already has a reputation for having a lot of ridiculous hate on boats. Stupid comments like "fit and finish are terrible" based on a picture just makes that reputation worse. I'm all for legit criticism, but if you're on here to to dog on something because it's not what you own, take it somewhere else. That being said, I got a chance to sit in this boat this weekend and talk with Scott from Sanger about it. It was cool to see how excited he was about this boat. It seemed like he was intentionally trying to break away from some of the traditional Sanger attributes, so that's why many Sanger fans might be a little stunned by the different look. I thought it had some pretty cool stuff on it.

I like the two rear-facing seats. They felt comfortable and allowed you to see the rider and sort of face the driver and others in the boat. I guess I'd have to spend some time on the water with it to see if those are better than something like the two rear facing seats on my LSV. However, I applaud new ideas.

Along that line, the aluminum swimstep was interesting. Very thin and very different from what I'm used. The tower had a similar "thin" feel. I guess his plan is to beef up the tower a little more than the one you see in the pics, but it will still be pretty thin. As far as the wiring goes, it's just like any other tower where they have a tube running through it. I guess if you were going to run 10 speakers up there you might run into a problem. I'm not sure exactly how wide the wire canal is.

The dash is busy, but pretty functional. I like the trim tab gauges with controls right on the throttle. The price is nice too in the upper 70's. Overall, it seems like a quality package for the price. As someone mentioned above, it's all about that wake, so that remains to be seen. I believe he plans to do one or two more sized in this model.

Good words Dave, you know I've been here a long time and love this place just a little sick of all the hate that's infiltrated this site over the last couple years. Expressing opinions is one thing spewing hate is another.

I'm glad to see Sanger stretching out their legs and doing something new and I'm glad to hear they're gonna continue this style in larger offerings. I'm a big Sanger fan, mines been nearly perfect for me over 8 summers now but outside of the V237 they don't offer me another boat I'd consider right now and I'm looking. This gives me more options from a company I love and am comfortable with. Northwest Inboards just took on Sanger and I can't wait until they get one of these so I can check it out.

It was really a general statement, not directed at any one person. I've never owned a Sanger but have been drawn to them for a long time. I am hoping this means I can find a new v215 for much cheaper in the future. Although I am all over the place with what my next boat will be.
