What is the best grease to use on boat trailers with disc brakes? I was at the parts store and the marine grease container read “not for disc brake bearings” and “not for continued underwater use.’’ I understand the latter but what is the difference of grease for trailers with disc brakes?

Disc brakes generate and transfer more heat to the hubs, so disc brake spec grease typically has a higher viscosity, or at least a higher resistance to liquefying.

Never thought of that, thanks. So some type of lithium grease is what I need?

You need a wheel bearing grease period, marine specific is better. Lithium doesnt necessarily mean its meant to handle the heat and pressure of bearings.
