I currently have the "old style" rack steering on my boat andf the cable is shot. I need a SSC12415 cable which I can't get here in the UK and shipping a cable from USA looks like its going to be too expensive.

I can however get a heavy duty teleflex sate T rotary steering kit which is within my budget and includes a new helm, cable and fittings.

The only difference I can see is the rotay is 3.2 turns lock to lock and the rack is 4 turns so it might be a little heavier and not quite so accurate but has anyone else done this?

The boats a 22ft v drive if that makes any difference but I read the rotary types are good to 26ft.
