Finally landed a 3-shove today! It wasn't easy (took about 2 hours), but I finally got it!

Looks awesome. Great job. It's always so satisfying when you land something your working on. I'm still working on getting a ropeless surface 360. I can spin them, but fall out before I can pump back in, but a shove-it looks fun. I think I might have to start trying my hand on that. Any tips other than practice practice practice?

For the 360 spin a little faster and closer to the boat if possible. Get speed, hand in the water, Knees bent, back straight, start the spin, get your head around, get ready to pump. Also, Make sure you're shifting your weight to your other foot when you're backwards especially if you spin slow like me. For the the shove, get speed, carve up to the top of the wake almost like you're going to do a frontside boardslide (back towards the boat), kick the board around with both feet (which will cause you to jump a little off your board), keep your eyes on the board, get your feet back on, and bend your knees. I think it's easier to try shoves with your board backwards first, that way when you land it your board has the fin in the right area and you can pump comfortably.

I really like how you put in all the failed attempts first. That really brings it home. While a shove-it sounds fantastic to be able to pull off, it would take a crap ton of work and control to get to the point where even attempting one would get a person anything other than a nose full of water.

Desi, you make me laugh. You're about as close to pulling off a shove-it as I am to retiring and moving into a lakefront house with a new A22...

But hey, I look forward to more of those "I'm almost gonna launch into the boat" Airs... hahahahaha

BTW (not that my approval means anything)... but I open this up to anyone who has a video of them landing something new on their surfer. I love watching new trick stoke videos. Anyone have any videos to post?

I've decided to expand my bag of tricks. First up, the alleyoop. I know it's not big, but I was pretty please with it, especially for my first day trying it. I think this was attempt number 3? It might be more of an aggressive 360, but whatevs, I was happy with it haha.

Trayson: I might be far from it, but I think I'm only a little farther than you pulling a 360 on your Koal . I haven't tried a shove-it, and after reviewing the video, I definitely have work to do to get airs in the first place. But the point is that we all want to work on new tricks and this one looks fun and is something I used to do back when I was skateboarding.

Ryan: Good work landing that. It looks good. Not sure if I'd call it an aggressive 360, more like a aggressive 180 to another 180 with the stall in between rotations.
