Do people have any pics of things you have done as far as Sub boxes...I am going to put a JL 12" W3 in my 205V and was trying to get ideas..

Thanks in advance...

Beest place for a W3 is build a box behind the kicker panel beneath the dash board. You will get a cave effect on the sound and the bass will hit very hard and fill the cokpit up nicely from this placement.

Well its not a 12" but it is a JL W3v2. This is a 10 inch sub, but I'm sure you could easily fit a 12 in this space as well.

I put matching carpet on the box before I installed it, but here are some pre-carpetted photos I found.

Hope this give you some ideas:

test_fit

test fitting the box behind panel. I had planned on using the original kick panel, but it worked out better to just rip the carpet off of it and make a new one out of mdf.

sub_box1

Laying on the glass. Makes it waterproof and air-tight.

sub_box2

More glass, the angle of the face matches up to the kick panel. Just a little caulk between the two 9.25 inch holes to make sure there is a seal.

finished

Finished, hits pretty hard. I had to take the change out of the side tray because it was shaking it too hard and causing a ruccous.

Looking at buying a new boat and was wondering if I should upgrade the stereo when I buy the boat or have it done after. The stuff on ebay is so much cheeper than what Malibu wants to charge you for the upgrades. I just want to be able to hear it when I'm rideing. How much do I have to spend ?
