I am looking into getting a gps speedometer for my 85 master craft SS to replace one of my stock gauges. I have been using a basic app on my phone but would like to upgrade. I have seen prices from $85-600+. Does anyone have any experience or any recommendation? Thanks in adavance.

I personally use a $35 USB-powered GPS speedo I got at Amazon. It's not gauge shaped. Instead of replacing a gauge, I just use some 3M Command Strip to attach it to the dash. It's been fantastic so far and I didn't have to make a permanent modification to the Airguides in my Ski Nautique.

My experience has been the GPS speedometers/cruise controls work great on lakes, better than paddle wheels, but we typically ride on a river that has a current that varies from 0-3 mph depending where you are at on it and when you change direction it makes a big difference. With GPS based cruise controls we are always adjusting the speed.
