So I'm totally new to the forum, boats, & wakesufing. I've been surfing my friends Tige VE 22 and another Mobius a little bit last two years. So Today I just took possession of an 08 RZ2 an I'm wondering how to set up a ballast system (how much weight and where to place). I can surf either side, but we will mostly be port side. We don't have much time left in the season (Wyoming) so I have all winter to work on it, for now I have about 1000lbs of lead I can use.

Does it have the factory ballast system? If it does, I would get rid of the hard tanks and start from scratch with some custom bags in the rear. I have a 07 and moved my batteries and Taps actuator to aft of my engine, right against the transom to open up the lockers more, and i run 1100lb sacs in each rear locker. They don't fill all the way but pretty close. It works pretty well, but i should have spent the money on custom sacs.

Head over to the Tige forum and search around a bit. Lots of info and pretty helpful guys.

I loaded only 450# of lead, and then when we had 3 adults on the port side it was about perfect. Where should I look for some custom bags. I want something simple and I don't need and auto fill/drain, easy enough so the girls can figure it out when I'm not around.
