Anyone know what size DIN opening this needs? I'd love to have this setup in my 15' Axis A22

Looks cool but no NMEA 2000 compatibility, I would stick with Fusion...

The main screen is surface mounted, so only requires an opening large enough to pass the connector through. For an application like an Axis that has an existing traditional head unit opening, a filler trim plate will be needed to cover the large opening.

I do not recall seeing anything that changed since the original IBEX showing, but CAN BUS and NMEA 2K was incorporated.

Confirmed that NMEA 2K and SAT are part of the final production model of the Wet Sounds MC1

John, can you give us dirty details of it?
Any links to the manual or video of it?
Does it have "SKAA" built it or have a in/out specifically for the A-link?
Pics?

My question is this. Is there even a market for this any longer ? Pretty much every new rig hitting the water has its own “ proprietary “ stereo system now integrated with its touch screen. So swapping to this unit isn’t effective. Sure there are some older boats out there, but majority of those are owned by “budget minded “ people . So dropping 6 bills on a head unit, and then having some custom work done to find a place to install it may be hard to swallow.

Great unit tho with tons of features. Just don’t see how it survives unless the get a mfg contract as an OEM option

@swatguy,

We are already seeing touchscreen boats needing new source units, and there is nothing on the market thats compatible. So the new car smell of controlling the stereo through the helm control screen, has worn off. NMEA 2K also allows for communication with some existing helm control systems and CAN bus is another communication protocol.

I'll be purchasing one in the spring for my R21......not ALL boats have incorporated their radio with the touch screen

I can see Axis using these in 2019 boats. 16 they used the kicker kmc20 and a infinity media center for 17 and 18. With this unit the Axis line could come stock with a full WS system.

Does anyone know the size dimensions of the head unit and/or the black box?

Here is another pic I found https://www.instagram.com/p/BaVTrLiB...by=wetsoundsnz

I’m also curious on size. Would like to know if it will fit on a 2011 axis dashboard in the factory location.

MC-BB (Black Box) 10.25" x 6.75" x 1.5"
MC-MD (Main Display) 7.2" x 4" x .75"
MC-TR (Transom Remote) diameter mounts in a 2.75" hole

Nice, that might actually fit in the 09-14 Axis Dashboard. Will be close.

Daniel, I’m returning now from SEMA and got a really good demo of the head unit from the guy that designed it. Lots of cool features with favorites volume presets, integration with the shadow casters rib controller, and other functions. Look for a video real soon explaining the operation.

I also got word that the nema2000 equipped head units should be shipping by February. That’s tentative and can change, but they’re happily moving forward.

I saw the video Tim did. I can't wait to get one.
So are some units not nema2000?

Crutchfield has them listed for 599

The first run of units will not have the NEMA 2K active, as its awaiting full certification.

My info says MSRP is $699.99, so id suspect that crutchfield listing to change, once they actually have them in stock.
