So a buddy of mine has 2x 485s on his tower and it sounds awesome so I want something similar. I found a decent deal on a threesome but I'm not entirely sure how they would compare. To me, it looks like the only difference is the enclosure the speakers are in. Any input is appreciated.

PS: if anyone has a pair of 485s I'm in the market

i have friends with a pair of 485s and 3 somes, they both sound great. but if you in the market for high end speakers, then i wouldnt mess around, just get some rev 10s, or a couple of 410s, i have 4 rev 10s on my tower powered by 2 750/1 jl mhd amps and they will blow any pair of 485s out of the water. but you cant go wrong with any wetsounds out there

I think the 410s would be a little out of price range for me at the moment. I found threesomes starting at $900 and a pair of 485s for $1000. I just wanted to know if the dual enclosure that the 485s have makes a big difference or not.

i think that all depends on the power your putting to them. wetsounds love juice!

I would do one set of Rev10's right now and add another set later when you have more $$$$. Pair it with one of those PPI phantom amps or an arc audio KS600.2(this would have enough power to run the 2nd set when and if you decide to add them).

a little more midbass with the 410 since they dont have the horn running through the middle like the rev 10 would be my guess

Whatever WetSounds package you go with make sure that you give them plenty off good clean power.
