My 7yr old is still riding furiously. Wanting to surprise him with a new board for his birthday. Currently on a motive 120. He's 53 inches, 55lbs.... I have researched the hell out of boards. Leaning towards the Hyperlite Murray jr. Any dads that have little ones on this board or instructors care to chime in? Thanks.

Definitely can't go wrong with the Murray jr. It's aggressive enough for kids to learn almost anything on, but it's also very forgiving, which I can appreciate since I hate seeing kids take hard falls that set them back months of progression. Most of my younger students either ride the Murray jr, Ronix Vision, or the Slingshot SuperGrom. In my opinion, all those boards get the job done and give them lots of room to progress.

I beleive it's a great board. I know a young rider about he same size that shreds on that board. My son wants that board but I am buying him the franchise 128 as he is 77 lbs at 9 years old.

Can someone explain the differences between the super grom and the Murray jr? Pros and cons....
