wakesurfing??? help!

So my dad has been talking about wakesurfing ever since we got our boat and it looks like a lot of fun. So I thought I'd get him one for his birthday but I know nothing about them. So do you guys know of any boards for beginners?

Do I need anything else like a special rope or n/e thing? Like I said I know nothing about wakesurfing so I'd really appreciate it if you guys would help me out

The hyperlite broadcast 5'6" is a great board for everyone, its easy to ride and it can rip if you want it to. A surf rope is a really good idea, no chance of getting your hands or feet caught.Straight Line and Liquid force make one, and Hyperlite has one coming out in 2007.

Hey Emily, I responded to your post in the wakesurfing section. With all due respect, without knowing your dad's weight no one can give you a recommendation on a board. If he's 350 pounds, the HL Broadcast will be a very bad choice.

Give us some additional info, preferably in the wakesurfing forum and we'll get you set up.
