So we are going to Palm Springs in 2 weeks for a little family getaway and the kids and I would love to get in some riding if at all possible. Are there any cable parks or wake schools close to Palm Springs that are open this time of year? We only ride boat here at home in Canada (because we don't have any parks), but we would be happy just to get some riding in anywhere.

Thanks.

Man I love Palm Springs. My in-laws have a hose there that they winter at so we end up there for 7-10 days every winter.

There was a place called Desert Wake what was only open for a few months as I recall (2012ish). I think the crew still riders there but its a closed private park, they still have a facebook page, might be worth shooting them an email to see if they can direct to you anyone who could take you guys out. Bear Mountain is only like an hour an half away from Palm Springs, lots of people ride the lake there in the summer, but I would bet they are full on snowboarding there at this point. That said, Bear is a sick place to snowboard!

Hey Andy, that's exactly why we are going, to hang with the in-laws and just chill out for a week. But while there I thought it would be sick to get in a ride.

We are still waiting for snow up in Canada. Actually our mountains are just getting hit now. I just looked and Bear doesn't have any snow yet otherwise we may have brought our snowboards. How funny would that be, leaving Canada in November to snowboard in California lol.

LW - Palm Spring is just great, a bit land locked with no water really but so fun. My wife and I (girlfriend at the time) lived there for about 6 months in 05-06. Super fun town. It was great to be able to hang out by the pool in the evening in board shorts after riding Bear all Day. Hope you can find some one to ride with out there!

Thanks Andy! Its not looking so good to wakeboard but I checked online and there looks to be a lot of nice skateparks so we might try and hit up one or two of them with the kids. We will probably spend a lot of time just hanging by the pool and going for some nice meals. We always have such a great time down there going to the classic car dealers and browsing too.
