The interior on the Malibu is way sick looking but the square windshield is way 80's looking.

The epic looks good from a distance---not so impressed up close.

ok now i'm confused. MC CSX - is this a center console that throws a wake too? I knew about the saltwater series, but now it says maristar on the side. Is there a ballast system on it? No rod holders...

interesting concept, but it looks more like an $80K boat that does everything half-ass

and the new nautique tower? (on the red and black one) Looks like they took a page out of the supra's book. not terrible, just further away from FCT. the nautique boys keep rolling the dice!

The CSX has the same ballast system (Triple KGB) as the X-Star.
Old     (phat_in_cincy)      Join Date: May 2003       02-13-2007, 8:09 AM Reply
Latest issue of WB magazine has Zane saying CSX is 2nd best wake (for size and shape) in MC's line-up, right behind the X-star.

IMO...that 236 (red/black boat) CC tower is an improvement, but the '01 era FCT is the nicest.

whats on the top of the tower in the second pic of the epic? looks like a camera to me?
Old     (bp22)      Join Date: Oct 2006       02-13-2007, 10:41 AM Reply
Nate ~

It is a video camera. They had a monitor in place of the mirror. If I remember correctly it had a 40gig hard drive to store the images and costs around $3,600.

anything other than white would magnify the defects/flaws in the glass job.....this boat really looks like a homemade boat--pieced together. I expected more, this was the only boat I looked forward to seeing...quite disappointed.

I actually really like the Epic boat. It looks clean.
Old     (fletch_tx)      Join Date: Aug 2003       02-13-2007, 1:19 PM Reply
now on the CSX....does it have the same hull design as the X-Star? I wish we had more interior pics of it! Hmmmmmm....looks like there might not be much rear seating, but that's maybe ok because if everyone settles up front...it gets some weight in the nose where a lot of boats need it. Then the driver can look over the front and chat with everyone while driving....

then again....the best viewing area for watching your buddies board is in the back....

Not to hijack,

But everyone always mentions how the bow of boats need weight as Mark says. Then why does everyone make a big deal about V-drive engines in the back giving the wake shape.

anyone sit in the captains chair of the Epic? doesn't look too comfy with the back missing.

is that carpet?

Disappointing to hear how it looks in person. I want to see this boat in person.

The new Tweeks are really starting to grow on me, especially the 236. The towers are finally starting to come around. Last years FCT is one of the ugliest towers in history IMO. And that's coming from a Tige owner. I'm really liking the helm.

The triple Ilmore Donzi is rad.

I have seen one black Epic, but I'm all for all white.

great point leo.

or How exactly does it improve handling, as i've heard many times? these boats handle several thou of extra weight no problem. does it matter where the 700lb engine sits? handling is better.. when? on your drive back to the ramp?

How does the csx have such a good wake if it's direct drive?
Old     (fletch_tx)      Join Date: Aug 2003       02-13-2007, 1:57 PM Reply
if the weight can still be distributed properly in the boat....doesn't matter if it's a V-drive or direct drive....the hull design(and how it sits in the water when weighted) is what matters.

Anybody catch the price of the CSX? Shouldn't be to outrageous, after all, it has hardly a windshield, less seating, less vinyl, no carpet and it's direct drive.

Oh, you missed the fact it was a Mastercraft. At least 70k I bet.

No Haggle! Only $806 a month! Damn, get me 2 of em'. And with the $40k I get off of MSRP, i'll buy a real boat!

What a Joke!

Wowza... but for the yacht-captaining, golf-playing, former waterskiing, marlin-catching, 58-year-old Floridian, that price point is manageable, if not reasonable.

If anyone wants to get up close and personal with an EPIC Jimmy Wolf will be out at Lake Elsinore on Saturday! With his (white) EPIC! West Marina Look for the MB Dealer!

If you want the stats on the camera system, go to www.wakeview.com website still needs some work but it has the vitals! It will soon be an option from the factory on the EPIC.

Yes, I was out at Saguaro with Jimmy Wolf and Reed Watson after the AZ Boat Show getting some footage for the LA Boat Show. I was the sales rep at the LA show for EPIC and Wakeview.
