How do you know you love this sport?

...I know cause I just blew out my knee a week ago today, and every morning I cross the Sac river I still say...


"DAMN LOOK AT ALL THAT BUTTER!"

I know I love it because I have been doing it since 1991, have blown out both my knees and broken my femur, and I still get the itch to ride any time I see smooth water

i know i love it, because I sleep with it everynight.

have received over $350,000.00 in boat loans since 1986..

"when your boat's gas tank is generally topped off and your tow vehicle is hovering around empty"

"When one of the first questions you ask a potential GF is "how do you feel about hanging out on boats, any experience driving?"....haha

I rode in the snow pretty much every year but this one and the only reason that I didn't this year was because I've been in Europe for the last 10 weeks for work. Thats how much I love this sport. When I land back at home next sunday the first thing I am going to do is go to the lake and ride after a 8.5 hour flight.

Every winter I think this sport is getting to expensive and I should sell the boat and do something smart with the money. Then Spring comes around and I take the boat out for the first time. Also that first morning session of the year when I pull the boat up over the dam and see the lake all glass makes me remember why I love this sport.

3 ACLs, separated shoulder, broken foot, the list goes on and on....

I hit refresh a hundred times a day on this website.

I planned my wedding around wakeboarding.

its a prerequisite for marrage...

I learned to snowboard this winter just because I missed wakeboarding so much. Now I have a mistress and a wife.

Because when I broke my leg I drove Evan and Billy around all summer just so I could be on the boat. THEY LOVED ME BEING BROKE

Because I can't even swim & still I'm out there giving it hell! you couldn't get ,me out on a boat to save your life, now I'll ride every day if I could

...because I have never passed on an opportunity to ride for not being 'in the mood' (which I have in all other pursuits I enjoy).

because its all i think and dream about. and when i wake up every morning all i can think about is if i will have the chance to ride that day and if i dont it sucks

I get the itch to ride even when I see rough water, or no water at all!

...when its the only thing that will bring me out of bed at 5 am after a night of partying to drive and hour back to the lake and get on the water by 7

Because if something on the boat breaks I'm usually trying to fix it to get out on the next tide/the next day.

Because I'm willing to get up after 2 hours of sleep, go and gas up the boat while calling, texting and generally trying to wake everyone I know up to tell them that getting out early this morning will be good for their hangover, and they're not cool if they don't. More crew = more wake.

Because last weekend on the way out for a surf driving past all the butter on the harbour and the river on the way I was thinking I'd way rather be going out wakeboarding today.

Because we are the only ones in nebraska out on the water in april when the temp is still in the 50s.

because I wakeboard in 8 inch deep ditches filled with anhydress??? ammonia and other run off farm chemicals just to get a taste of it in the springs here in minnesota.....

Because when the boat is unable to be used we get out the rope and use the ditches behind my blazer!

Because I own a vacation house at the river 3.5 hours from the home that I rent in Los Angeles.

Anything that gets me up at 6 in the morning has gotta be pretty awesome

I know it for sure when a co-worker comes in and yells "What the hell are you grinning at?" and I realize that I was daydreaming about being on the water again!

when you see a pond, lake, pool, puddle or cross a bridge with water under it and think to yourself that it would be possible to get a boat or winch in there for a run.

Because every time I'm in the car with any member of my family and we pass ANY body of glassy water everyone in unison says mockingly, "Look at that water, Les!"

I have dreams of my kids going pro so I can live the dream.

$1200 this yr on gear... and $60k last yr on a bote... and more in gas than i care to know about... and i don't have a house... moved in w/ a buddy to keep from selling the bote

When I voluntarily go to the lake in January at 6a, considering how much I like sleep and hate being cold.

And all just to have maximum time "available" in a day on glass, even if I don't use all the time.....

When you think about inventing a shrink ray gun so you can shrink yourself and gear down to ride all day in the bath tub.

i know i love this sport because my bank account says so ....

I know i love this sport because when i don't ride for a week I feel sick and am in the worst mood ever, then once i hit the water i'm all better

I got two:

1.I want to be the guy in the corona commercial who just sits at that beach watching the water, except, it will be the launch ramp at my local spot when the sun goes down and I'll be staring at the perfectly calm water imagining what i could do if I was in a boat...

2.I get made fun of by my friends every hour of the day for talking about wakeboarding, boats, past memories of the trip i took this one time to lake...

2 ACL's, 2 ski boats, 2 kids and a wife that love it and a big ass lake house.

When you pour your life savings into a wake board tow boat

When you drive to the lake on the two lane road, moon-less pitch black night and you tell your friends that you are close because you can smell the water and they think you are crazy.

i love it when you wake up right before the sun come up and dont realy feel like riding at the time but as soon as you get the boat out you have the best run of your life and you dont wanna go back to the house cause your killin it

Because I get in 61 degree water, hyperventilate, and go numb just because its late May and I haven't made the first run yet...

I sold the Escalade and lifted dodge...now drive a beater...but the boat remains in the garage. Always ready for another outing.

You know just how deep your love for the sport is when you jump off the swim platform and the second the board touched the water, everything disappears from your mind, it goes completely blank and as the boat start to pull you up, all you can do is just see the beauty in something so simple as the water.

Because you can't think of something witty to post because you are turned around looking at the water through your office window and then back at the clock.

wake up at 330 to be at the lake at sunrise.. dedication baby

I know I love the sport because my friends all start to hit me when I talk about wakeboarding because they know I'll never stop if I get started.

And when I stare out the window at the run-off pond next to school and think about hitting it behind someones car instead of listen to math or someones lame gossip.

When it pulls me out of bed at 6:30 am on Monday morning because I know I'll get to ride that upcoming Saturday. When it pulls me out of bed at 6:30 am on Tuesday morning because I know I'll get to ride that upcoming Saturday.When it pulls me out of bed at 6:30 am on Wednesday morning because I know I'll get to ride that upcoming Saturday. When it pulls me out of bed at 6:30 am on Thursday morning because I know I'll get to ride that upcoming Saturday. When it pulls me out of bed at 6:30 am on Friday morning because I know I'll get to ride that upcoming Saturday. Then when we don't go Wakeboarding that Saturday because no one but me is feeling up to it, I don't care, because I might get to ride next Saturday!

I don't see the dock as half sunk, I see it as fully hit-able.

well its not always but today bartlett with ramie and stevo blaine coury and chris l. to ride as soon as the sun came up.

I was watching forrest gump the other day and when forrest and jenny get married I scream BUTTER!!!!! cause the lake in the background is solid GLASS!

Because $4.00 a gallon still doesnt keep me off the lake.

Emily, exactly, except it's usually, that one kid who likes to skiboard/kneeboard/waterboard [a form of torture]/it'slikesnowboardingonwater/ski/Itrieditoncebutcouldn'tgetup/any other watersport thats not actually wakeboarding

When you live in AZ and it's SOOO HOT! and you can wakeboard year around!
...
And you own your own Wakeboarding company...that helps to!

When you live in Alaska and wakeboard ie.
1. The season is only 4 1/2 months long and making your boat payment during the long winter does'nt bother you.
2. You get in the water the weekend after the ice breaks to make the most of your short season (Matt5...61 deg water and you're shivering? WUSS!)
3. You ride until September and when you ride you get an icecream headache cause the air is near freezing.
4.When wakeboarding replaces your love of snowboarding as your main obsession even though you live surrounded by snow covered peaks for 2/3 of the year.
5. The ultimate plus side.... the sun stays up all night long in the summer and you and your crew are riding until 3am on glass, then go back to the cabin to have a couple drinks, then wake up an hour or 2 later to ride the am glass.
GOD I LOVE WAKEBOARDING!!!!!!!!!

I know I love wakeboarding because:
1. i spend a lot of money on it
2. i s[end a lot of time with it
3. and ya i just get that feeling evry time my feet touch the bindings or my board touches the water or i land a new trik
i guess i cant explain it. u just no wen u love it i guess. and i cant out it into words

Because I recently had a brain hemorrhage, and was told by both of my neurologists that I am now prone to brain hemorrhage’s, and that I should stay away from any activities that could cause head trauma (like wakeboarding), and the only thing I can think of is what grab I'm going to try next.

Mike that's funny I keep forgettiing my love to this sport because of the head trauma!!!! Ive had some doozies.

A~ Because all my credit card receipts say say "M&M Watersports", "Boardco", "Whiskey Militia", "Marine Products" and "Flying J of Willard" (gas station) and pretty much in that order.

When you start thinking that If you make a still in the backyard you could make enough Ethanol through the week to run the boat on the weekend,

when you give up pretty much your entire life (even wakeboarding sometimes) and go back to school to get your masters so that one day you may be able to afford the boat you want and a killer place on the lake.
