The other day I was trying tantrums for the first time and landed it on my 5th try and then landed about 5 more in a row that day.

Jump forward a couple days, and I was 0/6 on my attempts. I have the rotation down but my issue is I seem to shoot too far across the wake as opposed to getting good vertical pop.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get more vertical height when doing tantrums? Are you supposed to throw the flip right off the wake or wait until after you pop of the wake?

Thanks

Congrats on sticking a tantrum! Wait longer for the pop to avoid shooting across. As you square up to the wake and think you're ready to pop count to 3 in your head and then pop. You'll feel it. Also, don't focus too much on trying to clear the second wake. If you have a good approach, wait for the pop, and think more about going straight up just like you would for a flip on a trampoline, you should clear the wake no problem.

Spot on advice from Wakeska89 I like to think of taking them "uncomfortably late". A little more weight on the front foot, jam your elbow into your hip and off you go!
