It might be time for all those midwest wakeboarding junkies to wake up and smell the roses. We finally have a park in our beautiful region of the nation. The grand opening is scheduled for may. The grand opening will have riders like world cable wakeboard champion Tom Fooshee, Shane Bonifay, Aaron Reed, and many more notables.... I was down @ TSR last summer, but if u check out wakenation.com u will see this will top TSR, which in my opinion was the best cable park in the nation till this recent creation. I am starting to think that Ohio may turn into the straight up Mecca of overall Boardsports very very soon. There is already a good snowboard, wakeboard, and skateboard scene.

There is a lot of random skill floating around Ohio. Things like the new cable will hopefully organize it and bring it out.

Do you know when the opening will be... as long as you're all healed up (I had no idea you got worked in Breck -- sorry to hear you've got some bad luck ... jam, ankle, arm wakeboarding, nose, was it your toe/thumb that one time.... )
I'm down for a road trip there with ya... Chicago is right on my way.

I was there yesterday and the lake is about full. The building is in it's final stages of construction and would say in about 2 weeks everything should be wrapped up. I will be there about everyday starting in May. Should be a great summer.

I know some people were talking about renting a place for all of us out of towners on the weekend. I'm thinking of a permanent/long term campsite with pop up or RV type thing. Anyone?

Hey guys, thanks for all the support. Can't wait to have you all out May 1st. The park is looking so sweet. Soft opening is May 1st and Grand Opening Party is June 2nd.

We gave away to season pass to a great charity, Cure Starts Now, and they are auctioning off online. You also will a wakeboard and a lesson with Kevin Henshaw during our grand opening.

You can bid on it at: http://www.thecurestartsnow.org/phpauction-GPL/browse.php?id=212

Thanks,
Pete

A-dub, let me know if you get any updates for renting a place. I have a decent sized group of people here in Pittsburgh that want to make the drive for the Grand Opening. We are cool with camping too.

I call them hills, but a park is a park, and there are plenty more

Snowboarding in Ohio is just park. They have some pretty good features in the parks too. The problem is that you don't get many hits when the hole resort only has 300 feet of vertical.

Here is something else for you guys to do if you come to Wakenation. Saw on TV last night that there is a new ZipLine opening a couple miles from the cable park. It is suppossed to be 2500 feet long, 170 feet high and will go over the Little Miami River. Opens Memorial Day weekend.

Anyone going to be heading to WN the first couple weeks it opens? Me and some of my buddies are looking to go down there and wanted to know if anyone knew of a Campground nearby that we could take the RV to.

Are there 2 separate parks, one in Dayton and Cinci? I read where national cables for USAWakeboard was in Dayton but they seem to be too close to each other for 2 parks.
