I'm looking to have a kicker in my bay that ranges from 4.5 feet to 6 feet.

my challenge is, it needs to be able to be moved when not in use.

has anyone ever heard of a stationary kicker with legs that can retract up to float the thing away?

I can get barrels to float the thing...but then I'd also have to anchor it, and pull the anchor after each session. not ideal.

Are you able to do anchors with sub buoys below the surface?

We have always anchored them. It's not that hard to pull the anchors at all. you really only need 2 anchors to keep it in place. When your making it just make a spot under the back of the ramp area to set them when you bring it in.

I've only ever anchored so can't help a ton .... but if the water is only up to 6 ft deep, I would just anchor this one too. It won't be hard to pull them at the end of the year and replace in that shallow of water.

I would suggest adding the last ~2ft of rope to the anchors as bungie though .... this really helps from having the anchors lift up from waves and shifting the kicker.

Good luck with the build!

I would use 3 anchors....

* One of the front of the kicker
* One on the right left going out and away
* One on the right rear going out and away

.... make a big triangle with the anchors / ropes

yup, anchor each end of it with rope. the bungee section probably helps but I've never it. just makes sure your ropes are pretty long for the depth where you're anchoring.
