I just picked up a 2011 axis a22 and the rear swim step is notorious for cutting into the surf wave. Has anyone cut down the corners or altered on any way that helps?

Cheaper option is to buy a 2012 swim platform.

Is it fiberglass or plastic? I wouldn't advise it unless you have a good plan on dealing with sharp corners. I'd assume a teak one would be fairly easy to modify.

All the Axis swim platforms I have seen have been fiberglass. Maybe you can add some spacers to offset it.

As mentioned just get a 2012 platform. Second option is get a custom teak platform for around $600-$750

Cool thanks. I was planning on just ordering a 2012, but I wasn't sure if trimming the one I have now would be easier. Looks like I will be calling my nearest malibu dealer to order me one. Thanks

I did the 2012 platform when I had a 2011 A22. Platform was just under $1200 including tax and shipped. You will use your old platform hardware.
