show your rare, old, from-now-out-of-business, wakeboards... whatever, if YOU think it is rare, post it up, whatever the condition, snapped, pristine, etc. AND bindings too if you wish and have em

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mine is a Sage ________ (one of the shortest lived wake companies ever)
I got it at a garage sale years back for dirt cheap. Because i thought it was trash (i guess it still is or would be) i used it for my first rail experience and put a gouge in it that i covered with duck tape) I also put a bunch of stupid decals all over it that were laying around including a big one over the thing i most wanted to point out. the warning label said at the bottom "speak well of people and you need not whisper"

Upload
warning label up close with unique "warning"

Upload
Top shape is not too bad for its time i think, nice sculpting...

Upload
My stupid gay sticker/temporary tattoo decorating job (i better say it first before someone else does)

Upload
"Ohhh my! PHASERS!"

A peace Sign and a recycle emblem on the thumbnail... hmmm, hippie board maybe, my sticker job doesn't help either. i don't know if the board is made of recycled materials or what?

-----------------------------------------------------
i have two old skurfers i need to take pics of too

I even happen to have a photo of the digger that caused the damage to the board ;)
True perfect timing on that shot! (not taken from a video)

the board clipped the ends of the pvc sticking out, bobbing at surface level

it was my first time hittin' a slider and i didn't know what to expect, also it was to make my parents happy. my dad nearly pulled the plug after i sliced the board on that fall ;)

ya, i recently finally stepped up and got a shred ready. i got one of the discontinued FLY models because it was so cheap... and i liked the looks of it. I am still a fence sitter when it comes to agreeing if helmets help (in water crashes specifically) but i might be able to finally make up my mind this coming summer. ;)

also, you got to check out my duck tape helmet on the "you know the ones..." thread. lol.

FM (Free Motion) Josh Smith Pro Model. I believe from 1996. This board had a pretty advanced shape for it's time and it was a sweet ride!

WakeViolater, I think it was called the GTO, it came out right after the Impala. I rode that board before I got the FM board posted above. Very fun, but it had super sharp edges so it could take you down quick! The pimp was the original 4 hole binding board. Chase rode that thing finnless and killed it on it!

gto was my first board, that thing was a rocket ship. wish i still had mine, but i ripped the inserts out learning wake to wake and it put a big hole in the board

Here is a shot of my 2nd board! It was a Connelly Switchstance. It was a face planting machine. The thing was so flat that anybody who tried to cut toeside on it would take one to the grill.

My first board was the Connelly Blade ('94 or '95). It was a one directional board with awesome foot straps! I sold it to to Play It Again Sports to get money for the Switchstance...doh!

I don't have any pics of these boards because I never bought one but has anyone ever actually owned either board from Moose (not sure if that actually counts as a wakeboard), Core Boards, or Earthboards (the Brian Francis model was supposed to be pretty sick). How did they ride?
Old     (the_bum)      Join Date: Jul 2008       12-22-2008, 1:59 PM Reply
Dude Eubanks, that was my first board to! Bought it out of the classifids in the paper with a pair of Concrete bindings on it that were exactly like a pair of Ultras, all behind the pontoon baby!
Old     (eubanks01)      Join Date: Jun 2001       12-22-2008, 2:10 PM Reply
The Blade or the Switchstance? Maybe you got MY board!

We bought them both from Plano Marine and they were all they had at the time. I watched a wakeboarding instructional VCR at their shop when I bought the Blade to try and learn how to ride it before we left! It was all black with barbed wire on it. Man, I wish I would have kept it.

This was the first board i ever rode. I think it was 1992 or 93, not positive.

Connelly Razor Blade (~92-93)

2

I modified this one by adding another insert closer to the tip to center the stance up, and added a fin to the tip also.

3

4

This one came with bungee bidnings that were mounted through a center disk that allowed them to be rotated with the flick of a lever.

Not quite as old but pretty rare:

2002 O'Brien Cobe 137.

It's rare because it has a custom inlayed Kokanee Beer snowboard logo embossed into the deck. It also has a Cirrus core which is super light and strong. It's similar to what Hyp and Ronix are now using in there light weight boards.

Oh yes, and if you guys remember a certain rider by the name of Keith Lyman was signed by Origin. I bought the skull because I was at OWC at Lyman's first photo shoot for WBM as a "Kid to look up for" absolutely bombing off the kicker, doing cable high spins like I had never seen before.

Kyle, I've got the Weddington Pro. It's still in pretty good shape. I also had the 134 Aloha, not sure where that one ended up...

No pics but I've got the original LF Free 135 in the always wonderful Oatmeal color. Hard to go wrong with a deck that looks like oatmeal.

I have a Joyride Hooligan, but I think it was after they bought the molds from Origin.....

Other then that I have a bunch of old Byerlys (blunt, pro, etc....)

My GF has a CORE board... forget the model... also a Sam Owens from Double Up...

I almost bought one of Colin Wright Boards....

Anybody got a Serum?? Also looking for an old Thruster Cash Cow...

Here are three little gems: An O'Brien Shredder, A Wake Tech Big Air and an unknown model Blindside.
The Wake Tech has dimples on the bottom which is funny (for catching more air or for softer landings? I
don't remember), and the Blindside has a Double Up graphic on the bottom. That's gotta be a rarity.
