Does anyone know if the old LF Watson Hybrid (2012-2015) is still continued as a new board under a different name?

I've seen the Dose Watson, but I am not a fan of the new binding rails on the pro model LF boards.

Thanks!

Whaddup Phil? I'm quite certain that as of 2020, there are NO Watson pro models in the line up. Except for the old "Classic".
The Dose, however, is great. If you're lucky enough to find a 2016 model, it has Hole inserts instead of the track system. Cheers

18 boards. last year i was shopping for a new board. so i look on liquid force website. and like now there is 18 ish boards. one can NOT possible read about each board and keep them straight. you can't even just pick a drop down to filter to look at just boat specific or cable.

i kind of feel this thread cause i also used to ride watson old stuff and would like to simply know what is new similar these days. i emailed i complained.

there website is still crap.

i guess you got to call them and hope that the person that answers would have a better tool to sort thru them, but i doubt they will.

stupid company.

i going to bash them every chance i get just because of their damn website.

Is the FLX similar to the Watson? I thought the Watson hybrid and the FLX came out around the same time and always were a little similar.

You could reach out to LF and see what they say, maybe even social media with the presence there (maybe even Watson himself).

I don't think the FLX rides much like the Watson Hybrid. I came from riding Slingshot Response and Reflex, and the Watson Hybrid was similar with a little more grip and consistency. The FLX was slower, which I didn't like. I wanted to get a Shane Dose, but couldn't find one. The Slingshot Whip seems kind of similar, so I bought that and I have really liked it for boat and cable.

Just to chime in —*I have a Watson Hybrid and recently got the Watson Dose. I like the Hybrid better and was surprised at how different they felt. Definitely in the same species of board, but the Dose has bigger/sharper fins so it's much tighter and for some reason it feels like it rides smaller. I have the 144 and it feels like a 138 to me. Maybe that part is all in my head, but the tightness is definitely real.

Sorry I posted this question and then ghosted everyone! Ha.

Per Paul’s advice I went straight to the source and asked LF if they still had the shape, but under a different name. They said the most similar board would be the RHYME. Like I mentioned in my OP, I’m not really a fan of the 4D /rail system. So unfortunately, most LF boards are off my radar.

Has anyone ridden the Ronix Supreme ATR yet?

That sucks. Was just browsing for a new LF whip, but guess that won't be happening

Slingshot stopped making the Whip last year. Windsor's board is next most similar in the Slingshot line and I know he used to ride the Watson Hybrid when he rode for Liquid Force. I can't say I have rode one, but my friend told me the Hyperlite Union was designed after the Watson Hybrid. The newer Ronix One also looks pretty similar.

Nevermind on the Hyperlite Union, just looked and they got rid of the fins in 2016. A lot of the best crossover boards seemed to have disappeared.

Just curious on why you do not like the rail system. I know some people have complained of the bindings moving over time, but if you tighten them well you should not have a problem. And you do not necessarily need to use the 4D bindings. I pretty sure you can replace the angle set up to use any type of binding.

IMO, seemed to overcomplicate the binding to board connection with a minimal gain in function.
(when it was working)

One of our crew had a LF Watson with the rail system. He was always having issues with his stance slipping on hard falls and if cased the wake. He ended up cutting some chopsticks to a length that wouldn't let his stance slip out past where he wanted his stance to be set. That worked for a while, but he started having his bindings pop off on falls. Eventually, the whole rail system failed and left his board unusable and some 4D boots he couldn't put on a board without the track system.

I agree with Javi. If you tighten well there should not be a problem

I'm a huge LF Fan. Watson is one of my all-time favorite riders. I still acted like a fanboy when he would drop new edits. I have ridden their boards since I was a kid. Ever since they introduced the track system and 4d bindings I switched over to Hyperlite. It would be nice if LF would revert back to the traditional board screw hole patterns. I find it hard to believe the market for a stance profile so specific is that large in an industry so small.
