So… It turns out my budget is going out the window. I started the search for the 50 K budget, trying to be a little conservative. But the more I'm looking at Boats, the newer MBs really catch my attention and I feel like it's just making sense to go new. So I'm torn right now between a 2017 F22 and a dealer demo 2016 MB B52 23 (only 33 hrs). I can do either one (2 different dealers) for right around the same price. Both are very well optioned. My first thought is, bigger is always better. Jokes aside. But then I always hear people talk about dealer is important, and the F 22 dealer much closer. And then I'm also trying to figure out, the F-22 dealer is trying to throw shade at the dealership selling the 23 saying it is a rental fleet boat, so the warranty is no longer valid on it. He claims he knows this because he sold the other dealership the boat. Does anybody know if that's true about warranty being voided? I actually have really gotten to like the F-22 dealer, but now I'm wondering if this is just a ploy to steer me back to his boat. Plus it's seems far fetched rental fleet boat only having 33 hrs.

To your question about whether the boat was a rental and whether that would void the warranty, I'd think that the dealership selling the B52 should be able to tell you if it was a rental. MB would be able to tell you if that voids the warranty. I agree that 33 hours seems awfully low for a rental.

Regarding B52 vs F22, IMO the interior space is pretty similar. The B52 is a bit longer, for sure, but it seems like just a bit. If you have the space for either, I'd say just pick whichever one you like the looks of best. For me the choice was easy, as my marina has a 22 foot (nominal, not actual) limit on boats in slips. Since I vastly prefer having a slip to trailering/launching/loading/storing (did that for several years with our last boat), I had to get a boat that met that requirement. I can tell you that I absolutely love our 2016 F22. Rides and handles great, is very comfortable, and seems to be very well put together. Couldn't be happier with it.

Do u know if anything changed between 2016 and 2017 on the f22? I can get a left over 16 for 67,500 or a 17 for 68,500.

Or the 16 b52 23 is the same 67,500. All well optioned with the upgraded pnp and mb switch.

Two changes between the 16 and 17 that I'm aware of:

1. New tower
2. The ballast gates are now manually cable operated with two levers at the helm as opposed to being electrically operated with electric gate valves. Some people have trouble with the electric gate valves over time. The cable operated mechanism seems pretty fool proof. For me, for a $1K difference I'd probably go with the 17. You'd likely make up that difference (or more) on resale at some point in the future if for no other reason than being 1 model year newer.

Good prices, BTW.

The tower, which will be a big resale item by itself, the ballast gates, dash trim, windshield side pieces and different plates on the surf system. I would do the '17 hands down unless the price difference was substantial.
The 22 will handle better and the 23 will hold more. Kind of like a Tahoe vs Suburban. One is big and one is bigger. Both are nice boats. You will probably get a better interest rate on the F22 if the B52 has been registered, as it will be a used boat.

Oh man hyperryd ur speaking my language now. I will always get a suburban over a Tahoe. I called MB today they and they confirmed the warranty would be void if it was part of a rental fleet. So it sounds like the 23 may be without warranty. Hopefully never have to use, but nice to have for price of mind. I personally like the f22 better, except the only color available at that price is black and neon green. A little bright for my taste, but price seems good, so may have to overlook.

Don't settle for colors you don't want. Special order! There's still tim this season and you shouldn't have to pay more. We ordered our F22 and I am so glad I got to choose all my own colors and interior vinyls, plus a couple of "non standard" items from the factory (extra cleats, larger than normal PnP bags, different prop).

Yeah the problem is the good deal on the f22 is because it's demo boat. Supposedly it's the actual boat they used in the photo shoots for the new f22. New new are about 5k more and I know it's just 5k but i gotta draw the line somewhere haha. Maybe I'll talk myself into it, but hard to pass up on what seems to be a good deal. @soulsurfer u say the 23 isn't that much bigger? Well, could the argument be made then that the 22 isn't that much bigger than a b52 21?? They are both rated for 14 people but the 23 is rated for 16. I ask because there is also a 21 that I've pretty much ruled out simply because it's a 21....but it seats the same as 22, and 23 isn't that much bigger than the 23, maybe it gets into the mix. I looked at the 21 and 22 in the shop. Not on the lake. I personally like that the 21 doesn't have a seat back on the wrap behind the driver seat. They felt very similar in size to me

You raise a good point regarding the size differences. It probably actually comes down more to layout than space, per se. The 23 is bigger than the 22 and the 22 is bigger than the 21. For me, the difference between the 22 and 23 didn't feel as great as did the difference between the 21 and the 22. BUT - I place more emphasis on bow space than many here do and the difference in the bow between the 21 and 22 was pretty noticeable to me. The bow of the 22 is pretty much exactly the same as that of the 23. My wife, my friends' wives, and my kids all would rather be up there than anywhere else in the boat. In the main cabin area, the 22 isn't all that much bigger than the 21, but it is still bigger and a bit deeper. The same number of people can probably sit in either, but if you have 6 adults in the main cabin in a 22, they'll all have elbow room. In a 21, not so much. Oh yeah, and I LOVE the backrest on the driver side wraparound....so maybe what I like has no relationship to what you'd like!

oh thats funny. I don't dislike it necessarily, I just feel like it makes it feel smaller somehow with that there. But completely see your point about the bow and yes that is the favorite spot for my kids and wife, so good to consider that as well. good points. Thanks for the input. I'm leaning F22...I hope I get to be the cool guy that posts pics of my new ride soon

Here are some b52's at prineville resivour up in Oregon

Mine is blue one on right.

My brother just bought a f22, not pictured and he loves it.

Can't go wrong, comes down to liking the traditional vs pickle fork bow. I do believe the b52 is a little deeper, especially in the bow. The size is actually all made up in the cabin, bows are veRy similar.

Very nice. I really like that blue and white combo. These MBs really do seem to be great boats. Can't wait for some warm weather to get mine back on the water!

That's Cultus Lake in BC Canada. And yes it was absolutely perfect! I'm just across the border from it in Washington. Never been there before, but will go back for sure.

Great choice, dealer relationship is very important when it comes to service or warranty.

@Gerald that's funny u post that. Cuz that's actually my boat! It was literally the boat used for their photos and videos. I heard rumor that they did not have the towers done quite yet so they had to use that same tower on all of their models for the photo shoots.

I never realized how far back the new tower sits on MB's. It looks like they moved it back about 10" from where the old ones were.
