I picked up a Liquid Force 2015 Raph board recently. This is a park specific board, with a lot of spring and flex, or so it says.

Well just before I got it, I believe I had a patellar dislocation. Came down in the flats, on my old board, after getting some decent air and one of my knees just wasn't right when I came down(set was done immediately). Didn't hurt much at the time and still doesn't, however it was swollen and doesn't bend too well- 3 weeks out. I can walk with a bit of a limp and went wakeskating, so I'm hoping there is no permanent damage. The doc told me I should wait before coming in based on my description of what happened. Knee is stiff and only a little painful.

Anyways, to make a long story even longer, I think part of my problem was that my old board was a 2015 LF Remedy which is one of the stiffest boat only boards. My knees just couldn't handle the hard landings. So my question to all of this is whether I could try to ride the Raph behind the boat? I might not get as much pop, but wondering if it will be easier on the knees. Also want to make sure it's not going to do something unpredictable on me and injure me another way.

Thanks in advance!

Well... You can do anything. We ran a 14 Ralph for a while and it worked fine.. Not as much pop as a boat board or as my slingshot, very slick. Main thing with these thin as boards is catching edges hard. That's your biggest enemy here I think.

Personally I would say sell the Ralph and get a humanoid or slingshot. There was a huge difference in ride quality and landings between those for us. Maybe even a nomad for super soft landings. But you can for sure try it out, especially if you actually want the Raph for the park
