Maybe her first ride in a boat? What did she think was going to happen?

I miss powering turning 180s in the older direct drive boats with no weight......SICK!!!

Hey J-rod that X2 of yours will do a 180 no problem. When I went on a demo ride with California Skier the sales guy did one of the best 180's I've have seen or been in the boat when it happened.

Shaun ~ you're busted! Great vid thanks for posting Joe.

Someone told me that you may even be able to get the nose of the boat underwater on an X-2, almost like a jet ski on a power turn.

Travis, I'll go ahead and let you try that out...I am pretty sure I would sink anything if I tried that!

Travis, how would you know that? "Someone" told you huh....

Yeah the X2's do pretty wicked power turns. I went out to "warm up" my oil before an oil change one night (code for some serious ya-hooing) and whipped off a nice power turn that sent all my lead blocks bouncing across the floor. Watch yer toes. LOL

That vid takes me back to Labor day a few years ago when McMillen had out his parents 190 pro-star. There were three girls sitting in the back. If I remember right 2 of them ended up in the water when all was said and done. We thought it was hilarious, they didn't. Not sure why.....

the best power turns are in ski boats with one fat sac in the back and you can get the boat to pivot on the nose and almost do a 3.

Shaun,any video of that.

Ha, that's probably why it worked so well in Mike's parents boat with three girls in the back. I think the chicks would have been even more mad if we said they were like having a fat-sac in the back of the boat...

How bout this one?
We did it on knee boards back before wakeboarding was invented...
Rider behind boat. With good speed, driver does a long slowly arching turn to sling the rider out in the into the flats with lots of momentum. Then the driver does a power turn in the opposite direction and immediately throttles all the way back. So now the boat has suddenly done about a 270 in the reverse direction, but the rider is still being whipped in the original direction. The trick is to drive it right so the line stays tight. If you drive it right, and if the rope doesn't get hung up on anything (like passengers' necks), the rider will continue to whip a full 360 all the way around the boat, and by the time they come around back behind the boat, there is such a vortex back there that it will buck a person harder then any triple-up I've seen. We used to get 10' or more behind a Prostar 190 even before the days of weight and extended pylons. Don't recall if anybody ever rode out of one of these, maybe not.

Shaun, I know you know this one, right?

Disclaimer: kids, don't try this at home

I dont know fi any of you have tried that with an I/O but if you put people on one side and turn the other way sharp you spin flat instead of tilting and pull some crazy g's.

I've been in the boat when Shaun whipped Shawn Watson 360 around the boat...

We usually do one of those 360 whips around the boat a day out on the water. Easy to ride out of.

Something that we used to do is 2 people behind the boat, both doing 360 whips around the boat in opposite directions at the same time and ride away. The driver and the 2 riders really need to know what is going on. Oh yeah and make sure you use 2 different length ropes, otherwise half way round they end up in a high speed collission.
