I have been on so many boards over the last 2 or 3 years (have 7 now) and have liked charactoristics of many but others make it the board unridable for obe reason or another. Recently the Legend 145 is great on landings but does not release off the wake the way I like.
The one I rode the longest with the most sucess is the old Watson 06 07 shape.
I am now on a Tribute 142 and like it except that it does not feel big enough for me (220lbs, 6'2") and it lands kinda hard. I am open to suggetions for people who have been on bigger boards.

CWB Transcend. Can't go wrong.

What didn't you like about the Watson?

The watson probably isn't quite big enough for him. At least I feel that way about mine. I know that it is plenty "big" but honestly if they made a 145ish option for the watson, I'd be beyond stoked, as would most of us bigger riders who like the board. It seems like I'm coming across more and more 200+ lb riders these days, and while a 142 is classified as ample enough, a bigger one would be absolutely amazing. It's kind of like how the smaller guys have the option to ride a slightly larger board.

Exactly.
Is the newer model Watson a different shape? Not the Hybrid, just the new 2010.

i rode a smaller Marek and was not thrilled with it but maybe I will give it a real try on the bigger board.

I rode the 2006 Transcend. It did have great pop, but didn't handle chop well at all. My riding has improved since then so maybe I will give the new model a try

Has anyone had much time on the CWB Vibe behind a boat? I might try the 147 if anyone can recommend it.

I have two sets on my Vibe (I was on vacation all last week). It is a super fun board. I am 6'1", 185, and I have the 142. The board seems larger than other boards I have been riding over the past three years (Covin 143, One 141, Lyman 139, Ibex, 139). I highly recommend this board. The pop is good and I was able to ride out a few sketchy landings, but you need to have good edging technique (and I am sure that applies to all of the flex boards). Any other questions feel free to ask. I plan on going out two times this week so I should be able to give more details.

Yeah, everybody will have their opinions and Demo-ing is definitely the best thing to do.

I would like to throw my vote in for the 144 Ronix Viva. Everything in your description comes to my mind with that board. I love mine.

I just got a vibe. It's fun. Different though. I would try before a buy.

I wonder if us big folks could possibly talk liquid force into dropping the 130 watson (what 10 year old usually rides a pro model board like that anyways?) and make a bigger size instead (I say drop because it would be unlikely that they would want to manufacture yet another size board). It would make sense to have a 146 of the Watson classic, seeing as how many larger riders there are these days and how few big boards there are for them. Liquid could further corner the market by doing that, since there are again, only a few other boards that go up to that size, at least until recently.

Demo a CWB Faction 144cm.

Big pop, great speed and lands really soft

Oh, and Gene, yeah, the newer watson is a different shape. It supposedly tracks harder but is fairly similar. It also lacks the big spine down the middle of the board that gives it the softer landings we all know and love, but it's a different kind of double spine thing. It's hard to explain without just using LF's selling points.

I'd demo the 143 if you get the chance just to see what it's like. You never know, you might like it a lot.

Thanks Nick. That is what I was looking for. Are the landings noticibly harder?
So I have found that I do not like flex boards. On my list to try are the 1. Marek 2. Faction 3. Vibe and 4. Maybe the Viva

I can Demo a few but I have to narrow it down since there are so many..... plus in order to get a decent feel for a board I say you have to ride it at least 2 times.

Vibe. Vibe. Vibe. This board has reinvigorated my riding.

Another plus is you can get a 147, which will seem huge, my 142 seems big.
