Ballast set-up for X15

I just bought a 2008 X15 this summer. So far I've been happy playing around with the stock ballast but now I'm looking to add a little more. Most of the info I find is dedicated to the X2 and Xstar. Anybody have any info on how much weight to add to an X15 and how to distribute it. The Vdrive compartments are very deep but not long. I would like to get some sacks that I can try filling up by pump initially and later attaching to the stock tanks.

i have some friends that have one. They have it slumped and the wake is super mackin.

its something like this
650 fly high bow sack
600 in lead
500 in lead spread out in main area
750 in each v drive compartment
950 stock ballast
so about 3300#'s

You could probably do the rear X2 sacks and a bow integrated for the front.

I know for a fact that a 750 won't fit in the rear lockers of that boat. You're lucky to fill a 500# sac in the v-drive lockers. Lot's of room under the seats for bags though.

Yeah, it seems like I could fit bigger bags than the X2 in the rear but I think the 750's would be too big to fill completely. Seems like a 600lb bag would fit well but hard to find. Also, I don't think the wife will let me put lead all over the boat. At least the bags can be emptied.

fly high 400# in each rear locker(V-drive sacs), fly high 750# in the bow but back a little, maybe 3 ft from the cup holders in the front. And stock ballast full. I get a great wake from that. I assume any more ballast would just make it better.

we put the 725 launch pads in the rear and you can only fill them to about 500. So I wonder if next year using the fly high rear sacs would be a better option. To me the difference would be that the launch pad is longer so the weight is spread out more???

I installed the fly high X2 sacs in the rears compartments. Probably getting 450 ish out of those sacs. I also installed the integrated bow sac which probably gets 400 total. Plus I have 500 lbs of lead spread around. Most of its under the bow walkthrough. Great spot for hiding the wake. 23.5 to 24 mph at 75 its great. Total of 2700 lbs basically at the flip of your switches.

I installed some older moomba bags in the back 540 lbs each and the bowsack.Also some lead around 150 lbs in the nose.The wake is awsome.We have only one problem its only 4 feet deep so the wake can,t get as big like on a lake.And offcourse 4 lpg tanks 320 lbs in the back

I have a 09 X15. I put the X-Star fly high system in it. It is sick. I fill the stock system 100%, then fill the fly high bow system 100%. I usually fill the back port and star about 60-70%. If I load the back 100%, the boat starts to drive crappy. However, when I surf - it is good to have the extra weight.

I have the trim tab. I have it 100% down to get on plane, then put it 100% up to max out the wake. With 2 people in the boat - it is sick.

I have filled the backs 100%, but I had to put an extra 500lb sack in the front with 3 dudes in the boat. That wake was pretty nuts. I had to drive a lot faster than normal, but it was sick.
My back was killing the next day.

If you design a balast system, I recommend going big and being smart. You can always fill less than 100%, but you can't fill more than 100%. Does that make sense? People will tell you not to go too big because your boat might sink. Well, that is if you are selling a product to the general public.

If you know what you are doing, you aren't going to sink your boat - you will turn off the pumps....
