Other then Tyler, anyone out there? I am looking at buying one in the near future and want to get some feed back on weight, wake, power, etc. I have been in a 22VE but not a Z1. Although I hope get a ride in a few weeks.

I have been told the 22VE wake is better than a Z1

I have heard for wakeboarding as well. The Ve is the better hull and one of the best riding boats I have ever been in.

08, 09, or 2010? New or used? How will the boat be used i.e. boarding, skiing, foot'n, surfing, all water sports, all around family boat for a day on the water? What size lake(s)? Spent some time in the Z1, great boat. Just about one of the best out-of-the-box surf wakes IMO, puts out a sweet wake with as little as 700lbs in the rear corner and nice pocket with about 300lbs in the bow.

For boarding, sac it out as much as you need/want, but keep it at a 60/40 rr/ft split, the Z1 really likes the bow weight.

I have driven both a Z1 and 22Ve with the MP 325 and could not tell the diff from the MP 340, until the boat was loaded, but a simple prop change fixes that like most other tow boats. But, I have not been in one with the PCM 275 (offered in 09) although one rep said it had the torque of the PM 325, but I dont recall what prop it actually had. Without demo'ing one with the PCM 275, I would have to say go with the 343.

In answer to above questions:

I am looking at an 08 320 hp 4 mount point tower (sorry can't remember name) and 09 with Alpha Z tower, 343 hp. both new. Both have factory ballast (I would prefer the 09 if finances work out).

I am currently in an 18 1/2 i/o with a tower and am way over due for an upgrade.

We mainly board, but I am also interested in surfing since we will have a v-drive.

No skiing or tubing. No kids (yet). Mostly my wife and I with a few friends.

Taking my boat to dealer for consignment and look at the new ones this saturday.

The Z1 has been out for awhile. However, your better bet would be tigeowners.com. There are a lot more Z1 owners over there from what I can see. $.02

Dave - Will you be picking it up at the Tige Owners reunion in Lake Livingston/Riverside? If so we hope to see you there.
