For those of you looking to get a line level connection from your iPhone or iPod docking port, I suggest you check out the iSimple IS76 http://updates.isimplesolutions.com/post/iSIMPLEc2ae-LAUNCHES-NEW-WIRED-AUTOMOTIVE-iPODc2ae-DOCKING-SOLUTIONS.aspx

I picked one up from Amazon for $30. I just put one in my 210 and got the line level input I wanted and it also charges my iPhone.

Paul if I had that would I plug that piece into my VC and then into my Ipod and it would charge?

Jeff, I put one in my boat too. You get RCA outs, and there is also a power and ground for 12v that's used to charge.

I have the ipod that won't charge through the regular cord. I think it's the 2nd gen Nano ? I heard there is something you can plug into it to make it charge with regular cords. Wasn't sure if this was the cord or not. No big deal, I can just charge it before I head out.

Jeff this thing would work better than that cable you are using now. We could plug it into the eq, the vc, or into your deck if you have an rca auxilary in. I know you got some power wires around there too so we could get it to charge your nano. The problem with all the new devices is that the charging voltage was changed. If you aren't feeding it the correct voltage, it refuses to charge and the device throws a incompatibility warning. This device will charge at the correct voltage. Caution, it's going to work on Danny's iphone so he could start playing his getto jams all day long. ;)

One really cool application for it is that if you have an iPhone, you could crank Pandora radio all day over the 3G. Good alternative to satellite radio. There's plenty of other apps you could run without worry of draining the battery.

FYI- i simple also has a product called "Re-Volt" , this has a female i-pod end on it and it changes the voltage to the newer standard as it approaches the male side of the plug

( basically inline conversion)
