I took my swim platform off the star the other day to clean, and stain the teak. When I went to put it back on the holes aren't lining up. Is there some trick to putting the platform back on? I feel dumb asking this because it seems so straight forward.

happens all the time, most of the time it's either warped from sun and water or even just pressure of people standing on them. Get the holes as close as possible and re drill them. Won't hurt anything if you do it properly. I say this assuming your just talking about the pins that slide through to secure it.

before you redrill, make sure it was slide down correctly. I often would have one side get caught up a little and would have to work it back down.

On my platform its a two man job to get it to slide down just right. Every time I try it by my self I can't get it to slide down evenly.

Yeah maybe grab a hammer or rubber mallet and tap the brackets a bit to see if you can get it to slide on or match up. If not, probably going to have to re drill.

^^ What they said. If it doesn't go down straight it's easy for it to bind up and not get all the way down. Make sure it's going down evenly and a little help from a hammer should get it to drop into place. I wouldn't re drill the holes as then it's not in the right place.
