Hey all, can get a good deal on a Supra sunsport.... looks real clean, but is there anything I should look out for?
And is it a good boat for wakeboarding?

Thanks

I should also mention it has a 351 windsor engine, and is direct drive.

check the floor and stringers. those boats are made of wood - want to be sure nothing is rotted. rotted stringers or floors can be expensive.

you can do a quick google search on how to check stringers but the high level is bring your socket set with you and crank on the bolts that conect the motor mount to the stringer. if they turn without tightening, you got issues. if they snug in, you're set. walk teh floor really good - push in all kinds of weird places with your feet. lots of failures near the motor box.

good luck.

Also take a decent sized piece of metal and lightly tap on the stringers. If it's a nice solid ting sound is good but a dull thud is a sign of rott.
My old supra was solid on the motor mounts but rotten everywhere else and I didn't figure it out till after I had it a year.

Go to the Supra forum there are many threads about checking out older Supras.Check the floor seats and stringers for rot. That is the biggest problem they have.
